You are looking for MOTIONBLUR. The default value is 1.0 . To remove blur change it to 0.

If you're lost, here's a screencap of what you are trying to do.

And just for kicks, here's a few shots of the no blur....

I'm not sure which I'm going to play with now. The motion blur bothered me for a bit when i first started and it also makes screenshots a little trickier (where there is heavy blur).

i figured someone else might find this useful http://www.lokcomic.com/s/shrug.gif

coolie. thanx for the tip. yeah the blur at a complete 1 makes you dizzy after a while, but 0 is to strange. ill go about about .6

It's the one thing about the game that walks me crazy (I can't be driven because I'm close enough to walk :)).

No need to edit the registry... This 'Motionblur' registry entry is the equivalent to the ingame 'Fullscreen effects' option. Note that it removes a lot more as just the spectral motionblur, it also removes crossfades during cinematics, a bunch of water effects, or distortion effects, etc.

I think I'll stick with the registry edit rather than remove ALL the FX. The Spectral Realm's motion blur is the only thing in the game that bothers me. I want to see water FX and so on. I should have gone looking for it sooner and posted my own thread, but I had to play as soon as it loaded. :D

I think what Jurjen is saying is that if you do the registry edit, it removes all the effects, just like unchecking the box in the setup program.

Hmm, I think I may have to remove the Motion-blur...My color-blindness makes it difficult to see things in the Spectral Realm.

But, but… I like the motion blur! It's so… trippy! :p
Bah! I don't know how to do this stuff anyway. So I'll be leaving it as is.

And it's now 2:20 am. I don't know why I'm here!

No blincoln, I have the water effects and such after changing the registry -- but not after changing the in-game.

No. BLincoln is right. The registry option and the ingame option are 100% identical. The 'Motionblur' registry entry is used to store the 'fullscreen effects' option you set in game. The naming might seem a little weird, but this is because in SR2 pretty much the only fullscreen effect we had was motionblur.

If you see effects disappearing when you change things ingame, but not when changing things in the registry, you are either not looking right, or perhaps accidentally also changing other options.
