Why the Hylden were banished?
Because they donīt wanted to worship the Wheel of Fate. But if the EG is onipresent he would know the outcome of the war and he would knew that he would lose the souls of the Ancients.
And if the EG in fact feared the Hylden, they probabily could see what the EG truly was thats why they dont wanted to worship him, and over time they could evolute into something that could represent danger to the EG, thats why he made the Ancients start the war and banish them to the demonic dimension and become corrupted.
And about Raziel, if he really is the Hylden champion his soul wasnīt sent to the demonic dimension and the EG couldnīt put him in the "WHEEL" so he stayed in Nosgothwith his soul pure some eons passed and he was reborn as a human and become a Serafan then his future self killed him, some year later Kain raised him as a vampire then his soul become corrupted, over time his now imortal body could assume his true form so he become to change and become a Hylden but Kain throwed him into the Lake of the dead and in there his vampire side was destroyed and his soul was purified but not completly he could see the ED as he truly was but his soul was corrupted and in the underworld he evoluted no as a Hylden, but as a wraith and with free will.
As the EG is onipresent he knew that and made the ancients forge the Reaver to become Raziels prison.

Did u play Blood Omen 2? If u had u would know, the Hylden were banished because they were manipulating Humans to get rid of the vampires once and for all and wanted to take over, they are sort of aliens. In the end they would also kill evry human, and only they would remain. Therefore kain knew and banished them.

Hylden were banished by the Ancients. It was orchestrated by Elder God, because Hylden were immportal at that time [or always]. And they should have died to feed the Elder God and that's why they wouldn't self-sacrifice [as Ancients did when they were cursed and Elder God drived them to madness by ignoring their prayers, if only they knew what the Elder God really was...]
By the way, you have an interesting theory about Raziel, but as we now know he is not Hylden. Those murals represented his dual nature - Redeemer and destroyer...

In reply to your reponse RA Fox.

I still see Raziel as both and Ancient and a Hylden. This explains why the Blood Reaver would devour his soul, since he is part Hylden. Raziel is somehow a compilation of both these races, a hybrid. All this fits with the depictions of the murals, the dialogue, and even with what Amy Hennig, script writer, said.

Dogfight, from all information what I read I could possibly agree and I even allow such thought to take as fact for myself. But still I'm not sure, like always, I have some "inner suspicions".
