it is sooooweired that his family of all thier might and money did not know what happend to him and althought there is a weird thing beginning with kain's history, firestly he was a noble rich man and he was killed, suck thing i nearly immpossible, cause all noblen men have they gaurds and the DON,T WONDER ALONE LOOKING FOR FOURTUNE as kain did, and why even he wonderes alone in a small villege where he was killed?he has all the money he can wish for, such thing is inexplainable, sceondly when he decicded to rule nosgoth rather than dying for it how did he manage to rule it without an army?if he had any army ,where from? all the vampires where killed except him, he made an army? perhapes he did,but i think even in a game it well not be easy for a man[vampire] to controll a whole land for himself, where where it,s former ruler,s?in blood omen 2 i heared a nobleman saying to his freind{there was a time where we nobles ruled nosgoth} when exactly did that happen?plz answer my quistions![sorry about the english}

kain was fleeing from the plague infested city from which he hailed. it`s safe to assume his family died there.

at the pillars, kain didnt sacrifice himself simply because that would mean the end of the vampiric race. he was the last one. so he doomed nosgoth, claimed the corpses of 6 sarafan guys as his lieutenants, and began to build his empire. they in turn spawned hordes of minions, thereby rapidly making the humans a minority.

I really hate to be critical, but you answered your own question already by mentioning William and Ottmar. Obviously they were nobles/royalty in Nosgoth pre-Blood Omen. I'm sure their bloodlines ran back into the past (how far is a bit difficult to determine) and continued into the future (at least with regard to Ottmar, as he had a daughter).

Artemis was a nobleman in Blood Omen 2, so there is evidence of noble-blood post-Blood Omen as well.

I was always under the impression that there were kingdoms throughout Nosgoth, but after the Guardians became corrupt they took certain areas of Nosgoth as their own and got rid of whoever was there before them. The Nemisis and Ottomar were spared by Moebius because it fit his purpose.

Is it wrong to say that the Guardians of the Pillars were equivalent to the noble lines...I mean right there you see a council of powerful people protecting Nosgoth itself, in all 9 aspects of it. ( 10 if you include Janos)
