I was just about to make a similar post and I found this one. I'm in the Black Gate of Trier. (I think) I'm where Alex finds Her Holiness and finds out ...

That she's Nicolette Duclaire. Wow, That surprised me.

I now have some funky Illuminati guard telling me to go away, that I'm not needed here. In another chamber near by is a Grey.
So what am I, about 50% through the game? That sucks if it's true, it's just beginning to get interesting.

Has anyone figured out how many levels this game has? Count a level as a major location. So I'm in level 3. You start in Seattle (level 1) go to Cairo (level 2) and then Trier Germany (level 3). How many more, and what are they? I don't want to finish this game too fast. I don't have $50 to buy another game with.

50% at least. if you count in chapters, it's 6 in total. check the deusexroot\content\dx2\maps directory to count maps if you like. i'm afraid it's not more than that. imho seattle and cairo#1 offer the most freedom of geographical choices (sidequests), while the game becomes more intense after trier.

Yes there is.

templar compound is not a place. there are plenty of compounds in the game that belong to the templars. so he could be anywhere from 60% to 95%

Technically, the Air Terminal is a sublevel of Seattle. And can we please start calling the Templar compound the Ruins of the Black Gate. The Black Gate is a lab w/i in the ruins, so it's actually ruins (compound) -> black gate -> antarctica -> back to black gate / cairo

But in the game it refers to it as a Templar Compound/StrongHold (infact i believe the save game aslo refers to it as the templar compound but i am not home to confirm that)

The Templar compound isnt the Black Gate. Its where you go after you finish the first part of the black gate and befoer the second time u go to the black gate. You go there to get something that you need to operate the black gate, i forgot what it was.

There are two levels there: "Templar Compound" and "Templar Church". I have all the levels reccorded.
