no music/language in H2

music and speech in Hitman 2 don't work on my puter, but sound effects are fine, they work, but when somebody is talking in the video sequences I just hear some strange noises from my loudspeakers. I've got sb128 sound card by creative labs. what might be the problem? cause it's strange - sound effects work, but music & speech don't.

I had problems with the whole game running too slow. When I finally fixed that problem, I got almost the same problem you have. My music plays, but when somebody says something, the sound gets messed up. I have a VIA AC'97 audio controller (WDM).

I have the same problem, I also have an older model Sound Blaster Live Value, I am upgrading to a Audigy ZX in the next two weeks, but I have no music as well. The only thing I can figure is that the problem is either the updated universal live drivers are causing it. Or direct X9. Cause when I check to see what sound drivers it is loading, it had Direct Sound blacked out, when it should be, and use to be, lit.

Try disabling the EAX function, it may help you as much as it did me. Though I had only music, no SFX.
