Hi

The Xbox version doesnt get released until Feb 2004 in the UK.
I was wondering if any of you who own the Xbox version could tell me your impressions as i am thinking of preordering.

Only seem to be able to find threads regarding the PC version.

Cheers!!

Phil

I am playing the Xbox version. I also have a pretty decent PC....2.4 GHZ P4, a Geforce4 Ti 64 MB, blah, blah, blah....but decided I'd rather go with something with more or less garaunteed performance (Xbox).

After reading about all the problems everyone is having with the PC version I am glad I chose the Xbox version. I am having no problems with it....the worst part is the very long and very frequent load times but the PC people are seeing the same thing. FPS games are in general much harder to play (for me) with a console controller rather than the fidelity you get with a mouse, but with the autoaim feature helping you its not that bad and you get better at it as you go.

Thanks Bridgeboy

Whats the game like to play, i had the first one on PC and enjoyed it a lot!

I'm pretty used to using the Xbox controllers for FPS on Xbox now, thanks to many hours of Halo lol!

I also have the original on the PC, but I don't remmeber so many details about the plot sionce it was what, at least 3-years ago since I played it.

I'm thinking of loading it up again and playing it to refresh my memory...but there are so many new games out it is hard to choose where to spend my time.

It plays fine on the Xbox, but the long load times really do suck and break the immersion; I can't wait for the next generation of consoles.

Well, I just got back from a One and a half hour lunch break where I played DE:IW on my Xbox at home. And this is what sucks about the load times.....

If you are at a point where you are trying to pull something dangerous off....or lets say you just want to experiment doing something in different ways even though there are "safer" ways of achieving the same results.....and you keep getting killed....you then sit there for what seems to be an eternity (actually about 60 seconds or so) while the game reloads. Over my luch break I spent about half the time reloading. Instead of being deeply immersed in a great experience I was thinking about all sorts of other things while a blue bar fills across my screen.

This is the kind of game that you need to get involved in and "get lost" in the story, etc. And all these frequent long loads kill it. You also need to play it for longer than 1.5 hours at a time to really get into it.....

Get it. Contrary to all the complaining & whining you hear/read, it's a great game. Especially if you keep in mind that it's a game and not a life-altering experience like, for instance, getting married, graduating from school, having a kid, getting run over by a car, watching an actual person get splattered by a shotgun, etc.

Cheers everyone!

i will pick it up when it comes out, i think i can put up with the loading times as long as the rest of the game runs smoothly.

Shame about the PC version though.

Hi,

I thought Deus Ex: Invisible War was a great game until my X-Box started crashing to the main menu every time I tried to load the Heron's Loft level. I was having a lot of fun up until the crashes started happening. Now I can't go any further, and Eidos hasn't responded to my support email in over a week. Keep your receipt handy if you do get it.
