O yeah it's good a matter of fact is that it's smoother than regular coke and reminds me of the ol coke float. eh
Mom says it's flat.

since I still cant vote... It's okay, but nothing really special
It's like taking that little bottle of pure vanilla and drinking it.

The three or four time a year that I DO drink any kind of soda pop,
it's gonna be root beer or birch beer. Maybe a ginger ale or two if I have the flu.
I haven't hade a Coke on over 25 years.
Whoever had the bright idea to mix soda flavors is probably the same guy who
thought ice cream flavored chewing gum would be a good idea.
Or putting lemon in your beer.
I know - lets go crazy and put orange juice in our coffee.
And while I'm railing - Lets mix 7-Up with a fine scotch and milk in our chianti.
I do know that one part rasberry flavored vodka and three parts champage is good...
and don't forget to wet the rim of the glass with grenadine and coat it with sugar in the raw.

I'm with DEEKMAN on this... it's extremely rare that I actually drink soda... I did however try this new abomination... and I really couldn’t taste a difference aside of a slight vanilla aftertaste... but this is coming from a guy who can't distinguish the difference between Coke and Pepsi...
If I'm out and I'm thirsty I'll usually always purchase a Sobe now... finally a popular drink that’s almost everywhere so I don't have to die of thirst... because I don't really like soda (aside of ginger ale).

i like it better than reg. coke...

Of course, the Sobe has just as much sugar in it as soda. It is a fruit flavoured drink, not juice. It is way to sweet for me.

The best drink out there is of course water, bottled or straight out of the tap, it always tastes great and it is good for you too.

Vanilla Coke has a strange after taste.

My drink of choice is Earl Grey - Iced - No Lemon No Sugar.
I go through about a gallon of freshly brewed Earl Grey iced tea every three days or so.
Year 'round.

I personally go through various forms of tea; Ginseng, green, oolong, iced etc...

Deek, something tells me you're on the wrong side of the ocean, my dear. I've never heard of a fellow Yankee drinking that much tea in that short a time span! I don't really like iced tea - unless it's made just right: too weak is tasteless, and too sweet is nauseating.

We dring Caffiene Free Diet Coke every night in my house. It must be exactly that - no questions asked. And it must be prepared as following (I make the best sodas in the house as I've done this for years now): Large glasses, 3 trays of Ice Cubes, fill the whole glass up with cubes, pour the soda to the almost very top. Dad gets flustered if there isn't that specific bottle in the house - he has to resort to something other than what his taste is refined to! lol

As for myself, I will drink Brita water, Snapple sometimes, & definately Ginger Ale/Birch Beer/Root Beer. Yum...

Vanilla Coke's terrible. It has an awful aftertaste.
I'll just stick with the ice cream float. :D

It's alright, I suppose. Tho I still prefer the regular coke. I could live off the stuff. :D *opens up another can of pop*

I... Can't.... Decide...

It's been bugging the hell out of me for weeks, I keep buying it trying to figure out if I like it or not, and I don't know! It's some kind of wacked soft drink from another dimension that you can't form opinions on! AHHHGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! (I'm dead serious.)

Hmmm, has anyone tried mixing it with any alcoholic substances yet?

Rook

I haven't tried Vanilla Coke, but it sounds pretty nasty. Lemon Coke sounds worse!

Zaphod

It's just so fake-tasting. Coke makes billions - can't they do a little more R&D to come up with something that tastes a wee bit more like actual vanilla?

Feh.

I'm all for vanilla Cokes, or cherry Cokes, or chocolate Cokes made with... ya know... a Coke and some vanilla (or cherry or chocolate) syrup... like from an old soda fountain at the drugstrore...

But that crap they're peddling now? Ugh. The only thing worse lately (in soft drinks, of course) is this awful trend to "lemon" up everything. Both Coke and Pepsi now have their lemon-flavored cola.

Now, I'm from New England, where a wedge of lemon comes standard with every Diet Coke. And I freaking love it. But drinking one of these new pre-lemoned colas all bear a striking resemblance to drinking lemon Pledge, or lemon-scented floor polish.

I tried Vanilla Coke once, and I couldn't taste any difference, and I don't much like Coke anyway, so I thought this was just a waste of time. :( And the commercial... It's like peek into people's rooms in a hotel, and we'll punish you with a Vanilla Coke! :D:p

If I could vote, I'd put okay, but nothing special. I like it better than normal Coke, and it's okay if you have it every once in awhile.

Speaking of Vanilla Coke, in all of the US, there are only two Vanilla Coke vending machines. One in Connecticut, and one in my High School! :D Still have no idea how it turned out that my high school got it. lol

But my choice of drink, would still have to be a mint frappe! :D Here's what's sad, I had another (meaning more than one!) dream last night about drinking a frappe. Nothing special, but just an entire dream about me going to the Elbow Room to buy one. lol

BTW, willow, have you ever had what's called Kashmir Green Tea?

It's OK, but it lacks the 'bite' that regular coke has...it does taste really good w/ ice cream, though!:)

Rook

Ehh...scratch my original reply. I might just have to try vanilla coke. After all, anytime Coke includes an extra flavor to cover up the fact that they can't seem to get their original cola's flavor right, it can only be a good thing.

:D

To tell you guys the truth, I'm all for it. Vanilla Coke, Pepsi Twist--I really like the innovative new flavors they're producing recently. Not to mention they taste great too.

Wed. July 31. 9:30pm EST.
My wife just now had me try it. Smells like Coke. Then it tasted like Coke.
Then the vanilla started registering on my taste buds. It's light
at first then becomes a horrid genuine imitation metallic vanilla taste,
WHICH NOW I CANNOT GET OUT OF MY MOUTH.
[panics and rushes for the trusty Iced Earl Grey sitting nearby...)

Oh, OOOOOH!

I thought it was coke you guys were talking about, as in crack, coke, etc....

Come to think of it then, I HATE Pepsi and Coca-Cola Coke.

Just Kidding. Really.

See that's what I was wondering though, if it's actually good. I had it once with an Oregon Chai, but it tasted horrible. So I don't knowif it was the Kashmir Green Tea, or the fact that the chai had milk in it.........

It might be good by itself though. The woman told me that by itself, the tea has a type of almond taste to it. That I could taste, and it seems alright, but not with the milk and ice, and whatever else was in the drink. lol :D

Buy a coke and put a few drops of vanilla extract into it. Same thing.

Moggraider
08-01-2002, 05:20 PM
Except you have to pay extra for the extract, but Vanilla Coke costs the same as regular Coke and already has the vanilla in it.

pepsi blue is weird...

Saba

It's not vanilla, it's some chemical that tastes like vanilla. Pure vanilla makes a huge difference.

Somebody, please try this and tell me how it tastes.

err, try what? vanilla coke?

you mix coke and vanilla ice cream together, and drink the coke. that's basically vanilla coke.

I only drink diet caffeine free coke. The other day we picked up a liter of Vanilla Coke just to see if we liked it. Well, we haven't opened it yet and after reading what DEEKMAN had to say, maybe we won't! :D

Well, west nile virus made it here, so vanilla coke will probably make it down there sometime. Actually, I like vanilla coke alot more than west nile virus.

What's with this "down here" stuff? You're perpetuating a north-south hemispheric spatial preference stereotype which would have us believe human directional references and connotations such as "up" and "down" have meaning in a multi-polar world!

Oh, for shame! ;)

Personally I like Vanilla Coke. Cherry Coke is better. But the worst thing I have ever drank so far is Diet Coke with Lemon. I almost died. My heart stopped beating, my throat swelled up, my eyes glazed over..... and then i swallowed, threw it back up, and never looked at it again.
