I recently deinstalled dx2 and reinstalled it on a seperate partition, when i tried to install the patch after that it wouldn't recognize where the game was, even though you can type in the directory address, any idea's on this one?

It sounds like there could be the old information in the registry still pointing to the old installation folder.
Check your registry for Deus Ex entries that point to old folder..
(be very very careful using regedit)

thanks that fixed that problem.. the next one i have is that all my movies and splash screens before the game and during the game skip.. video and sound both.. now i've reinstalled the game multiple times, and i have bink video and they play fine in that. For some reason when i get in the game everything seems to bog down... as if its not getting enough memory.
