See, this is what happens when you force certain things onto people. :p Here are my system specs

Athlon 2.6ghz
2gig DDR Ram
Radeon 9700 pro 128mb video card
120gig Hard drive
Soundblaster live audigy 2

A pretty top of the line system and Deus Ex: Invisible war wont start because I too like the Geforce 4 MX card users get the Pixel shader 1.1 required error message.

Like any intelligent computer user I of course have everything upgraded and everything is working perfectly. For example, another game that requires pixel shading is Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, and that game works perfectly on my computer.

What do I do? Can't just tell me to bugger off because I more then meet the system requirements. Ooh well, i'll take it back and get the Xbox version. Just thought Eido's might want to know that they should try testing their games before they ship them. :p

Looks like user error to me as the 9700 Pro supports pixel shaders. Make sure your video drivers are up to date

http://www.ati.com/support/driver.html

and that you reinstall DirectX9 after the drivers.

Thanks but I know how to use a computer, it isnt my problem. I got the latest drivers and Direct X 9.0b installed. I already know that you are suppose to uninstall your previous drivers, reboot, install new drivers, then reinstall dirext 9.0b.

Which driver version are you attempting to use? You might want to track down the CoD hotfix version of the Catalyst drivers on ATI's site. They're an early release of the 3.10 drivers that fix a LOT of serious bugs in the official 3.9 release. Maybe they'll fix your problem.

I can play DX:IW with them, but I get serious problems with grey pixels flashing everywhere. But there are other threads for that problem...

Seeing as other 9700 Pro owners can run the game, I guess it is.

Are you overclocking anything? It sounds like you had an Nvidia card before? If so, look for "detonator destroyer" as the normal nvidia uninstall sometimes leaves traces lying around.

Make sure you not running any `debug` modes on DirectX either, it can cause interference - would affect ANY card.

The 9700 definitely works fine, as its the card i have in my base machine.

Considering I have a 9700 pro, and the game runs smooth as silk for me, it's a problem with you. The 9700 supports pixel shaders just fine.
