Change the following entry in your default.ini file found in your system directory for Deus Ex Invisible War:

UseFullScreen=True

Change to:

UseFullScreen=False

What is the result? Your performance and vision and everything will be beautiful and smooth as butter. It'll perform like a Porsche 911. The only problem is that the screen takes up about 70% of your monitor or less. In any case, the gameplay is significantly better with the above option set to False even with the smaller window.

I've noticed a slew of morons with "magic" fixes for a game that is simply BROKEN. god...if great performance in Deus Ex 2 was as simple as running the game in windowed mode, then im sure Ion Storm would have made an official notice about it.

Get real guys, we'll just hafta wait for the patch

Ooo! Ooo! I got a magic fix! It's called the imagination! With the imagination you can pretend that your running everygame at 120 frames per second! Wow... look, a flamethrower that runs of gasoline! Wow!

(I am not making fun of you, I am making fun of everyones magic fixes and trying to come up with a guaranteed fix... that's the best I could come up with)

Sorry about that, but for most it turns the game into a super smooth ultra fast gem. Even the lighting is normal. No more squinting and black voids.

Good Luck - Still worth a try for everyone else.

I messed arround and got mine to run in windowed mode and it runs ammazingly well. I have to set the resolution in the .ini files but it works and then I get performance that is what i might expect from the game.

Just tweak a bit, I am sure u will find sumthin :)

I would guess that fps is around 60 or more when not in full screen, per the description. In Full screen, the fps seems to be about 10-20 in 800*600 or 1024*768 w or w/o bloom and 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x multisampling, etc. In windowed mode (FullScree=False) the game just flies. Much better experience. Lighting is better...way way way way way better. Motion is smooth and precise. Shadows, darkness, textures are clear tight and right. Ya gotta try it.

I don't knkow how people can be complaining about performace issues.

I only have a ATI 9500PRO and a 2200XP with 512MB 333MHz DDRAM. That's not even close to the top of the line. How TF are people having problems? I use no mods, no ini s nothing. I play at 1024X768 with 2X Multsampling. Granted it's not Need for speed Underground speed but it's more than just palayable. The performace lag is only noticable when u are close to smoke and fog.

same here, i have a radeon 9600 pro 128mb and the game is smooth on 800x600. it's decent at 1024x768 with everything on high, but bloom and vsync are off. and multisample at 1x. the only thing i changed in the .ini is to make your character in god mode.
