Well its been a day since I beat it and I've let all my feelings sink in. I may sound over dramatic but if you loved the first as much as I did you'd feel the same way.

First the game was pretty good. If I had just picked a random FPS off the shelves to dump $50 on. But I didn't I picked a sequel to a game of the year expecting to live up to its predecessor. I listened to all the negative comments and thought "no it doesn't matter what they say, Eidos has always come through and will make an incredible product worthy to be known as Deus Ex's sequel. A game with an in depth story, length, interaction, good rpg elements, and all the other good stuff that was in the first one.

But that wasn't the case.

The story was fairly good accept I was disappointed in J.C. going war wacky. The game felt so distant compared to the first. I was expecting DXIW to be to the first DX like Fallout 2 was to Fallout 1 and instead I got Fallout Tactics. Now that can be ok but don't call it a sequel, call it a game in the world of DX. Unfortunetly they couldn't cause they had to involve all the characters from the first one.

Warren kept going on about how disappointed he was in the first because he wanted the interface to seem more organic, like it was imprinted into the eye. By the time the game was over and I watched the fourth ending I wanted to stick my car lighter in his eye. I missed the old interface and the better inventory system.

If you played this first and then played the original then youd be in for a real pleasent surprise unless you are really caught up on graphics which to me always take a backseat to overall enjoyment.

Like I said this would have not been a let down but I expected it to be at least half of what the first was. But it paled in comparison. Now what gives me the right to *****, I paid $50 bucks for this game when I shoulda gotten Jedi Acadamy and waited 6 months for it to be 30.
