This game reeks of a console. Voice acting is laughable. Graphics are horrid. Levels are cramped. Game performance is easily the worst I have ever seen. I'm shocked, dumbfounded and completely disappointed. How do I get my $50 back?
Eidos, Ion Storm, Warren Spector and everyone associated with this game should be ashamed.

i concur wholeheartedly this was a rediculous let down chrsit i had more fun playing shadows of undertide and hordes of the underdark NWN than this stink load. Its soooooooo repetitive. OMG the doors locked, OH look over there a vent conveniently connectinf me to the other side of the door, HEY a hacking terminal too to unlock the door COOL. Am i missing something? this game hardly deserves a 3/5. i spent 5h on this game, i spent sumthing like 50+ hours on fallout or BG2. DAMN peaople where have all the heroes gone. if u want a REAL rpg do yourself a favor run down to eb and buy a falout+falout 2 combo pack for $10 bucks it will change the way you look at RPGs for ever

True, the Fallout series is one of the best ever for RPG's, but even the original Deus Ex was never that complex in relation to character skills. I would suggest System Shock 2, as an alternative to Deus Ex:Invisible War. It's brilliant, just like the first Deus Ex....without all the failings of this one. And, if you can take bad graphics...even the original System Shock, one of the best games of all time.

While I don't doubt the game has serious problems, it's not as if you weren't warned. The game went gold less than a week after the demo came out. The problems in the demo should've been warning enough to cancel your pre-order or buy something else.

Yeah seriously. I believe the game would have been much better if they had given it another two months or so but noooo they had to have it out before Christmas. The fact that it even states in the readme not to use over 1x AA for ATI cards I think is farking crazy. The demo comes out and has graphical errors, bad FPS and you have to do all kinds of .ini editing to get everything to work ok. So what do they do.... ship the game right afterwards.
If they patch this thing right away I'll be happy but I think the look and feel of Max Payne 2 makes this game look like a joke. Now that game has some good graphics and a story.
I agree. It even topped the last few Zelda games. When I got it, I had to check the box to make sure it didn't say "Daikatana 2" on it.

Problem is that a lot of fanboys, IS, and bought reviews (i.e. Gamespys review & the fact they are getting paid to run massive DXIW ads) was telling people that "no no the demo isn't representative at all!"
This caused people to buy the game who otherwise would not based on the demo.

Right when in actuality the demo is exactly the same and even has the same little errors that could have been fixed by now.

Yeah, I totally dig those retards out there who defend the review sites like IGN and the integrity of their reviews. "No no, they arn't taking money to rate that DragonBall Z game a 10/10!!"
::sigh::

I was in the Marines when the first Deus Ex came out and I spent most of my Leave playing it. Deus Ex and Planescape Torrement are to of the best story driven games I ever played.
And Now we have this.
I have a juggernut of a PC so the game runs fine(1024x768 6x samples); well thats not the problem. The game itself sucks, I cant seem to get into it and I'm already more than half way through the game. The voice acting is HORRIBLE and the areas seem small and thrown together (like someone else before me stated). It seems like the game was rushed, even though they been working on it for over two years. And was pissed me of the most was that they dummbed down the skills system; basically turning the game into a second rate FPS. In my opinion DX2IW should have been called Deus Ex Incredible Waste of my f***ng Time!!!!

Off topic: if you're going to play SS2, get the high-detail models and high-res textures mods.

There's 2 high-res textures mods being worked on that are being merged, but right now try this one:

Two things:
#1. Define a Juggernaut of a PC? :)
#2. Wouldn't that make it, "DX2:IWoMFT"? :)

lol
Definitly had the shortest lifespan of any game I ever bought. I got it two days ago and I put it up on Ebay already. I'm just disgusted with the whole situation and if Thief 3 turns into this I'm going with xbox.

my specs
Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo rev 2.0
3200XP/400MHZ FSB
1 Gig Corsair DDR 3200
ATI RADEON 9800 pro
Game rus fine in 1024x768 mode with that blur crap option off and 6x samples on.... I just had to do the Mouse tweak to make everything work ok. ANd BTW I have beat the game, got all 4 endings and the game did not crash on me, not even once.

I will admit I was very disappointed when I first heard JC's voice... I was hoping it would be the same :(

Wait.... how did you play that game without graphical errors with 6x AA? All the ATI people I've talked to had the same problem and it even said in the readme not to use over a 1xAA with ATI or you'll have errors.

I'm pretty sure the same actor is used, but y'know, he's changed. Fffffffffff.

Use the Cat 3.9s and turn off bloom. The errors seem to come about with the combination of bloom & AA. You can turn off either one, and I prefer to turn off bloom.

Yeah that's what I had tried but it doesn't seem to help much with the jagged edges. It's still not a very good looking picture even with AA on.

WRONG! Commandos 3 is the most disappointing game in history! :D
But really it is. It's another developer also working under Eidos.
This game is certainly not a big of a disappoinment as Commandos 3. But it's still a disappointment. :(

No, Commandos 3 is not the biggest disappointment. The biggest disappointment can only cme from a product (movie or game) that everyone has been expecting so MUCH from and that has been hyped for a long time, etc.
While Commandos series are fairly popular and of high level, not so many people really were expecting it to be one of the best games ever ... and many did expect that from DX:IW ... that is why it's the biggest disappointment.
FALLOUT (1 & 2) is the best RPG's (real one) I've played and certainly makes it into the top three games of all time for me.

The biggest dissapointment in a game for me was Star Wars Galaxies. But that game is slowly getting better, but i dont think that will be the same for DX:IW. BTW i want to get system shock 2, but do any stores have it anymore? I dont mind ordering it off the net but i like to get it right away.

If the multisampling (AA) settings are not having an effect make sure you have them set to application controlled on your 3d settings tab for ati cards and quality and performance settigns tab for an nvidia. Not sure which format dx:iw uses, i think it's direct3d but not sure. Anyway you get to them through advanced tab on screen display settings in widnows or through systray shortcuts on later versions of the drivers.
