rope doesn’t work

I have a vent above another room with a door connecting the two. the rope is in the vent right above the door leading to the room below. the rope is triggered and can can be climbed from inside the vent but in the room below if you try to grab on to the rope lara will not grab it

Hmm, this maybe that you have the rope in a 1 tile room, as when Lara attempts to grab from the lower room, the rope would need to swing, however this will not be possible as the source of the rope is in an area that restricts swinging; this may be why Lara cannot grab it.

it is not a 1 tile room the room is more than one tile in the room a trapdoor opens the trapdoor is on the same tile as the ropeso when is opens lara can climb down the rope and then what is suppose to happen is lara can climb the rope back up but she will not climb back up from the room below only from the room with the trapdoor

If that is the case, then I do not know, however perhaps a pole may work better?. ;)

I will have to use the pole rope

I had the very same problem - I wanted to use a rope to climb up thru a hole instead of using a jump block and as you say, no way would it work. In the end I used a jump block.
