game loads up to 30% then i get an error 1305 reading from file e.\data\maps\cutscene\cs_6_16.16.gmx.clz. Then i cancel out and it tells me look for help in windows msi.chm or msdn error 1603.

Might be a fault on the CD? Have you performed a Full Install?

Try copying the file from the CD to your hard drive to see if an error occurs.
