Why is TR humming?

For some reason when I run the game now (and this is the TRLE version) I get this high-pitched humming from my PC, even if the sound is switched off. This happened a few weeks ago for a while and then it stopped. Now it has started again. It's driving me mad. It is not in any particular level, it starts right from the title screen until I exit the game. It doesn't happen on anything else.

Any ideas anyone?

Forget it - it's stopped now. Don't know why, I haven't done anything. :confused:

It may be a sound that is emitted from your video card. I have experience this phenomena periodically with certain games, however, I do not believe it is a serious problem.
My theory is that it may be a noisy fan brought on by certain frequencies, however I have no formal evidence to support this claim. ;)

It could well be a noisy fan actually, I've had that before and had to get it cleaned, but it's whirring a bit now so probably time for another clean.
