HELP!!SUbtitles go by!!

hello. i installed the game and ran it and then played it,but whenever there was a movie,i couldnt read the subtitles because they rushed by so fast!whats the problem how can i fix that??

Does Lara also speak like a chipmonk?

The sound card driver may need updating.

If this still doesn’t work go to your Windows Control Panel (->Start ->Settings ->Control Panel. Click Sound and Multimedia. Once you are in Sound and Multimedia Properties click the Audio tab. In the box 'Sound Playback' click Advanced, choose the Performance-tab and set the Hardware acceleration from Full acceleration to Basic acceleration or No Acceleration.

i dont remember speaking like that... The movies are ok ,but the subtitles go by so fast that i cant read it.now i cant play the game because i dont understand anything

When starting a new game Lara is in a courtyard area with a tied up dog. At various points Lara stops and speaks with the subtitles below.

Can you hear Lara speak OK?

When you say movie do you mean the FMV movies such as the high quality Intro movies of the Core and Eidos logos and first movie where it says "Eidos Interactive Presents". This is before the menu is displayed. Or do you mean the cutscenes where Lara interacts with other characters in what looks like normal game environment?
