spoiler indeed
I am growing tired of having to highlight everything in this forum under geis of protecting the unkowing eye from secret game information that will spoil the story for them
while all along between each spoiler some bit of unmarked spoiler text gives yet another clue as to the context of the discussion
certainly one post read without highlighting the spoiler area may not give the story
but three four or five posts..
no one gives enough credit to the intelligence of those not lucky enough to have played the game yet

I mean can it not be enough just to label the topic as spoiler..?
if they don't want the story spoiled they shouldn't go reading such topics anyways right?

Well, I'm sorry you find the SPOILER tags to be cumbersome, however Chris@Crystal expressed that he wanted them used after LOKD came out and after we did some relaxing on the issue.

So wait... you're an intelligent one - but two extra seconds for highlighting is too much effort for you?

Here, allow me to show you, rather than explain, my general reaction to this...

You seem to believe that your hackneyed attempt at irony constitutes the presence of intellect.

If your argument was never about the highlighting, then WHY are you grousing about the spoilers? So it's a tag - so people are tapping the word "spoiler" into their topic headings - you're a superior being, so get over it. Or are you trying to illustrate a point about the deeper aspects of existence by showing us the follow of our own ways through sinking to our level? Did I get that right, or am I still beneath you?

Let's try it this way...

Your location, dear boy, is precious. You're mostly at your dojo, are you? Then what, pray tell, do you study? And further, how long have you been at it? I'd just love to know.

While we're flaunting our martial associations, maybe you'd like to see both of my black belts - my instructor's certification in Shuri-Ryu Karate and Okinawan Judo - the multiple trophies I've brought home - or perhaps one of my paycheck stubs from the single largest karate school in central Illinois? I can do that, you know - very easily too, I might add.

What's that, you say? You never knew I took martial arts? Well gee, some of us don't make a pretense of flaunting something that has no relevance to the boards in a piss-poor attempt to make ourselves look as if we have some actual worth - while at the same time running other people down.

My advice - get your head out of your fourth point of contact and stop whining about things that most people feel a need for, alright? Whether a person needs spoiler tags to avoid undue exposure to elements of the story of a game they don't own yet or not, it's no concern of yours - and certainly no cause to jab at their intellect.

Get the hell over yourself, kid. You're a poster on an internet forum - just one of many - you are no more special than the kid posting before or after you - so stop acting like it.

Edit: rephrasing.

Oh, and one other thing...

Your "two pennies for the ferryman," bit - Charon accepted two gold coins, placed over the eyes of the dead - not pennies. Pennies have nowhere near the monetary worth of the coins used by the cultures that actually used Charon as a component of their spiritual mythology - and therefore your little saying is not only incorrect, but it's historically and economically inaccurate.

Clearly, someone's intellect has been overestimated here - but I wonder whose that would be?

Although your rebuttal to Cerpo's arguement is admirable, don't you think you're being a bit harsh? Maybe even flaming at a fellow poster who plainly made a silly complaint?

He implied that other people on the forum were stupid for needing the spoiler tags in messages - and further, directly insulted both my intellect and Umah's for apparently missing the "deeper message" of his argument.

My contempt for undeserved arrogance is legendary - it's just finding its voice here.

Obviously I wasn't clear enough earlier.
