i know the limit for objects is 255
and the limit for static objects is around 2000
but what is the limit for the number of lights???

Lights (including fog bulbs): 768
Moveable objects: 245 (10 are reserved)
Objects: 2000 (including lights, triggers, doors, cameras, sounds, sinks, - everything)
Also, room limits are
Objects: 100 (static, moveable, and triggers)
Lights: 32 (including fog bulbs, cameras, sounds, sinks)

Do you get a message when you exceed these limits? I mean... You don't have to count by yourself how many objects etc. you've placed so far? Hope so...

Noooooo... No warning messages my friend, except for the objects below the Editor Window, which truns red when you exceed the number. Other limits, when exceeded, show up when your level crashes or gets all messed up!

Probably there is no a warning message for all limits but some exists:
- "Maximum overlapped ...." It is related with the number of stacked rooms and its configuration.
- "Maximum Object number reached". Do not save the project after this message because it will be corrupted.
Some others no:
- "Maximum number of lights" do not exist and the game will crash accessing to the affected room.

Lights per Room : 32
Lights per Level : 768 * Note 1
Doors per Room : 20
Objects per Room: 100
Objects per Level: 2000
Triggers per Level: 512
Polygons per object slot :255
*Note 1:(Cameras, sinks, fog bulbs, sounds, and all lights count.
It appears that flame emitters also have some affect. They don't count toward the total, but during game play they will affect lighting)

Once again, Note 1 applies to lights per room, NOT lights per level.
Maximum texture tiles is 256.
Maximum textures is 1024. The first 256 textures are taken up for the 256 full tiles, even if there aren't that many in the TGA file. That leaves 768 textures you can create from partial tiles.
