Need some help possibly

I'm not sure how much of this is a spoiler but I'm gonna play it safe. I have gone to 2 spirit forges and I'm a bit confused about what it is I'm gaining when I sacrific my blood. When I give the blood I see nothing happen nor hear nothing happen. What exactly am I gaining and if I am to gain something what am I doing wrong??

I just started to play this game (never had the time to before, plus it took a while to find a copy) and I'm really enjoying it, regardless of the lesser graphics. I hope someone can help explain this to me. Thanks in advance. :)

Your blood is used to 'purchase' artifacts (Flay, Energy Orb, etc). Each spirit forge is designed for a different artifact. Upon entering you will see a symbol on the floor (of the cave not the spirit forge itself) this is the artifact that will be given to Kain for his blood sacrifice.

Ok cool, that helps a bit. Now you say that an artifact is given to me, what is the indication that I have it? Is there a special menu that I can look at to see what I have gained?

If I remember correctly don't I have the "Flay" artifact from collecting the cards that are labeled with flay symbols? If that is the case why am I giving blood for something I already have?

Artifacts unlike magic require a 'card' for each invocation of them. Hence why artifacts have a number when you look at them in your inventory. They are used independently of magic.

You can see all your weapons/spells/magiks/artifacts by pressing the F1 key (if I recall correctly).

Ok so what do the spirit forges do. Are they magic? If so I must be missing something in my inventory. Boy I wish this game came with an owners manual HEHE. BTW, this is the PS version of the game.

The spirit forges increase the number of items you have (the item icon on the floor of the forge tells you which item). Each time you give blood, you get a few of that particular item. This is not a manditory thing to do, and if you find yourself not using a particular item, you do not have to give your blood for it. I can't remember if they count as secrets or not (a couple do if you do it right).

Also, if you possess a human and brign them in, you can sacrifice them for 99 of an item.

i am also quite new to the game and am stuck on level 2 for the last few months i would appreciate any help. Im at the bit with the ladders and that spray stuff that you cant get past cos it injures kain, how the do i get past this bit?:confused:

You appear to be discussing BO2. (Do correct me if I am wrong though).
