Please post your favorite quotes from BO2.
Here are some of my favorites in no particular order:
1. "Cowards and traitors deserve no second thoughts. Only their complete annihilation."
2. "I am sure Umah will give you all that you deserve."
3. Kain: "Haven't I earned your confidence, yet?"
Umah: "You haven't rescued me, yet."
4. "I have lived long enough to dispose of you."
5. "Spare me the moral anecdote, and direct me to his throat."

1. "I seem to have failed."- in response to Marcus' "You tried to murder me."
2. "I am the night shift."
3. "Clever trick."

I love these lines near the end of the game.
Umah: Kain, I'm dying.
Kain: Yes, you are.
Kain: And do you believe that Nosgoth rightly belongs to me?
Umah: I do! I believe it, Kain! Please!
Kain: Then you may die knowing the truth.
Kain: You should never have betrayed me. You could have been my queen.

Originally spoken by Umah during the training session
I have a prisoner waiting for you down below. A thug, from a local gang of criminals. He sought to murder yet another helpless victim, but he met me instead.
Originally spoken by Umah during the training session
Do you want your death now. Come you shall have it."
Originally spoken by Kain during the training session
Train me? Do you take me for a dog?
Originally spoken by Kain as he searches for sanctuary
I am the night shift.
Originally spoken by Kain as he searches for sanctuary
Go here, go there. What do you take me for, your errand boy?
And I am actually quite fond of the events of chapter 10 involving The Price of Betrayal.

I was gonna bring this up and a few other things about Umah but after a while I decided against it for fear of my unlife. I wish you luck my friend.
"Cowards and traitors deserve no second thoughts, only their complete annihilation."(What I really like about this quote is that in SR1 Raziel says "I, Raziel, was to suffer the fate of traitors and weaklings - to burn forever in the bowels of the Lake of the Dead. " Kain really despises traitors, cowards and weaklings:D
"Shall I ease your mind and tell you I am sent by Vorador for the Vampire Resistance. Or shall I simply tear out your throat and continue my search?"
Too lazy to type more but those are my top 2 faves.

this was probably the best dialogue in the game.

I think that my favorite game quotes aren't even
said by Kain.
Listen for some of these from the peasantry:
"You've no business 'wh--in' away our money!"
( a dialogue between husband and wife)
"Its the Sarafan, they've raised the taxes."
"The tax on drink, you mean."
There are a lot more, but my personal favorite
is between a thief and his would-be victim
in the smuggler's den.
"I'll cut your ears off"
"I haven't any money."
"Slit your cheeks?"
"They've taken it already."
"Then cut your throat."
"I don't have it!"
The thief then runs off to beat up a woman having a conversation! This game is so bizarre
and I just love it! (disclaimer time: if the quotes are slightly wrong, its either my failing
memory or my game copy)

Indeed. But, rather, to the many who "pollute the forum" with complaints about recycled discussion. Some of the membership fails to realize that older threads tend to be ignored, especially this late in the game. Therefore, to generate discussion, one must often create a new thread to discuss their topic, even if it has been discussed before.
Back to the matter at hand:
I have only one to contribute. But I find it to be perfectly definitive of Kain.
No-name civilian at the sewers: "There's brigands down there who'll attack you on sight, they will!"
Kain "Then they will die."
Beautiful. No wasted effort, no fancy goth-poetic verbose. Concise, and to the point. And indeed, they died.

My favorite quote had to be this question posed by Kain to the Sarafan Lord. Hey Kryptonite head, where's my purple Kool-Aid suckah!?
I also liked this quote

From the shards of tattered dreams, I rose - unwilling.
Tossed upon tides of pain that flowed and ebbed and left me searingly awake. And more revoltingly - alive.
It was then I saw her, for the first time.
i love this speech and being the first word spoken in the game by kain it really made me pay attenion.
but my fav Kain line would have to come from kain in BO1, the one said to Moebius before he kills him.
Moebius Aye - you have seen my plan, vampire, as I have seen your destiny. The future says you die!
Kain But I am dead . . . As are you!

Darien, I remember that!
OMG you made me chuckle! I'd replay just to hear that again... but my nephew is borrowing the game.
And all the while he b*tched and moaned about how Dante was so much better than Kain. Then he asked me to borrow it. And asked me to bring it and SR2 over to his house before he came home.
Hypocrite. :p
Probably not the exact quote, but you get my drift:
"Tell me where the Sarafan Lord is! I'll have him buried within the hour!" - Kain
Then Umah tells him how he'd be no match against the SL at the time.
"Fine, then... make it two hours..."

This quote apparently only happens when Kain approaches the locked gate and is turned away by the guy. This is on the small bridge near where the woman is complaining about her husband "whoring away all their money". If Kain first goes to the pub to get the passphrase, "I work for duckets traders", then Kain won't say the quote when he next approaches the gate.

You know...I totally agree with you on this one...I mean, I think ALL of Kain's ex-lovers, I mean, old friends ;) are all a bit bonkers.
My favourite fight was against Sebastian though. I gave him a good whack and he always flew to the wall screaming "can't be!can't be!" - I loved this game SOOOO much!
My favourite line Kain says is to Vorador and his host who are all standing around looking at Kain as he revives himself after the whole incident with Sebastian.
Vorador:"Ah, I see that you have te Nexus Stone"
Kain: "And I see you were courteous enough not to relieve me of it while I lay unconcious"

EDIT:
As long as we're doing clever quotes, btw, mine's that one "I am the night shift.". But we ought have a thread for Kain's dumbest lines, too. Like "Old man, ... do you live?"

I must admit that my favourite line comes from the first Blood Omen. When Kain has just had his revenge, and says,
"With my assassins dead, my quest was over!"
I love it how Mortanius comes in at that very moment with the Nosgothan equivalent of
"Don't you DARE get back into that box (crypt). I have plans for you, my pretty..." <insert evil laugh here>
To think - that's probably been the only time Kain was flatly contradicted and didn't have a seizmic tantrum. ;)

Aside from Kain reading the cronicle from Mobius's keep about how the Circle created the sarafan, this one sticks out of my mind of being the favorite.
"Vae Victis; suffering to the conquered. Ironic now I was the one suffering, not anything as pedestrian as physical pain, rather the cruel jab of impotent anger... the hunger for revenge. I didn't care if I was in heaven or hell. All I wanted was to kill my assassins. Sometimes you get what you wish for."

Hiya Peeps,
My favourite quotes are the fact based ones that have an underlying moral: -
"Take help where it is offered. Yet I've always found that help offered when not needed, is usually no help at all..."
I never understood where this came from though: -
Moebius: The ignus fatuus (sp?)
kain: ignus fatuus?
Moebius: the ignus fatuus....blah blah blah
This was stated by moose562 and cant remember hearing this at all. I have tried a search engine attempt but no luck so I hope someone can help me out.

That quote originates from Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. When Kain goes to visit the Oracle of Nosgoth (aka Moebius) in the caves, and receives a little insight into his quest. There is an FMV sequence involving this.

My Favorite quotes from BO 1/2 are:
"You will find me relentless" - Kain against chained up Umah, one of the best moments of the BO2 game!
"Gift? Pah! Vorador thought my curse a blessing. That we were gods and that mortals offered their blood as sacrifice so that we could enjoy our supernatural powers. And somewhere deep inside my new self I knew he was right. That mortal dreams were prayers. Prayers to us - begging for our power.
I pondered this as the decadent old fool prattled on about his past; a boorish account of how he defeated Malek of the Sarafan and took his vengeance upon the Circle of Nine for supporting the Sarafan’s holy war to exterminate us . . . "- Kain (BO1 - Vorador's Mansion)
"And so I left that place, with clear knowledge of what sort of monster I would become if I let my curse consume me, and with an ally for the future." - Kain (BO1 - Vorador's Mansion)
AndaPanda

BO 2 - Kain: "And why do you suppose I would do this? What is to be my reward? Your eternal gratitude?"
"Yes, I remember now. (She had been in my thoughts. I almost believed I had called her myself.)"
"Spare me the moral anecdote and direct me to his throat."
"Do you want your death now? Come, and you shall have it!"
Kain: "You eluded the guards?" - Umah: "They were only human"
"Ah, you are one of them, aren't you?" "Whatever do you mean"
Marcus: "You tried to murder me!" - Kain: " I seem to have failed."
Woman inside the Sarafan Keep: "Greetings, vampire" - Kain: "You have mistaken me, madam, for some... thing I am not."
Kain: "And is this but a legend to be proved false at the fatal moment?"
"Beast" Janos Audron: "We have not met. I know of you, of course. That you can return from the dead gives hope to us all."
I like this one:
Ariel:"But first you must fall, rise, and find your salvation between"
Since i do not know, what does it mean . Maybe someone knows?

The "Alas poor Nupraptor..." quote is a true classic :D
Ardeth Silvereni
01-28-2004, 06:49 AM
The quote is actually this:
"Three instruments await you, to aid you in your quest, but first you must rise and you must fall and find your salvation in between. "
I believe the three instruments Ariel was referring to were the Soul Reaver, the Wraith Armour and a Time Streaming device. They were all in Avernus Cathedral in BO1.
The cathedral was split into three very different environments, reflecting Azimuth's role as Dimension Guardian. Kain had to 'rise' into a heavenly plane to collect the Soul Reaver, and 'fall' into a hellish plane to retrieve the Wraith Armour. In between, in the 'normal' plane of the cathedral, Kain picked up the Time Streaming device. The device was his 'salvation'. It allowed him to escape from the Battle of the Last Stand, when Ottmar died and the Nemesis' victory was assured. :)
Some of my favourite quotes:
Kain V.O.: (Referring to Dark Eden)
I passed through the wall unharmed. It seemed the magic only preyed on things that were alive and pure. Or, perhaps it simply decided that I was twisted enough.
Sebastian:
It won't be the last. He is here. I sense the taint of his overblown arrogance.
Kain: (Referring to the Sarafan Lord)
He is a touch more powerful than I expected...
Kain V.O.:
She would discover I needed little training in how to kill.
LOK kain is the greatest

Kain: Will you sour this reunion with old grudges?. Granted,we parted on poor terms.

In case some of you weren't paying attention, the LoK series has some of the best scripts in the history of videogaming. To me, the dialogue is truly one of the main reasons I played all the games (not to say they don't have any other good parts:p ). Anyway, do you have any favourite quotes? I'd have to go with
Kain: I awoke to the pain of a new existence in a dank womb of darkness and decay. (BO1) - kain's first line as a vampire as he emerged from his tomb. etched forever in my mind.

It appears that Omni_Sephiroth has posted the quote incorrectly. It should read:
Shall I ease your mind and tell you I am sent by Vorador for the vampire resistance or shall I simply tear out your throat and continue my search? I leave the decision to you.
This discussion transpired between Kain and the butler as Kain was searching for the Bishop of Meridian in Blood Omen 2.

There were only two female Guardians at the time; The Balance Guardian and the Nature Guardian. The male with the beard who "fizzles out" in the FMV would be the Energy Guardian.

Anyone have a good website listing Simon Templeman's acting work? I know he was a guest character in several episodes of Northern Exposure, but I've never really gotten hold of those episodes. I also happened to hear him completely by chance when my friend's sister was watching some show called Totally Spies on cartoon network. Templeman was doing the voice of that episodes villain. I plopped down and watched the rest of the episode. His voicework made a silly kid's villain way more menacing than he should have been :D

If it helps, he was some kind of insane scientist trying to freeze the world. And he had pointy ears.

Mortanius:
Come to me, my undead son. Make haste to the Pillars. The stage is set for the grand finale. You will have your vengeance.

Kain:
Vae Victis (how could one not love that?)
------------------------------------------------------------
Kain:
Alas, poor Nupraptor, I knew him well...well not really.
------------------------------------------------------------
Kain:
Once I embraced my powers, I realized that Vorador was correct- we are
gods, dark gods, and it is our duty to thin the herd.
------------------------------------------------------------
Vorador:
Hahaha! Call your dogs! They can feast on your corpses!
I could go on, BO1 really has great dialogues.
