View Full Version : Hmmm...that's odd

I just noticed something. Maybe I'm just ill-informed (highly possible), but I can't think of a single DX2 interview, screenshot, concept art, etc. that refers to the Illuminati in any way. I just thought that was odd since a relatively minor faction like the Templars, who never really appeared in the first game, have gotten a fair share of spotlight. We know more about the fate of the greys and the karkians than we do about one of the two major forces in DX1. It's like they're deliberately avoiding talking about them. *GASP* I think it's a conspiracy!

Funny you should say this because I was thinking the same thing the other day. When discussions about the merged endings came up, I'd be saying you merged with Helios and joined the ... wait a minute ...

But the other day a print magazine I subscribe to came out with an Ion Storm feature and it quoted Warren as saying JC joined the Illuminati. My theory right now is that they've avoided talking about it because JC is involved with them, and they'd like to keep JC's exploits secret. But that could, of course, be completely wrong. :p

I would be very surprised if the Illuminati does not play a significant role, though. It would make no sense to omit them from the sequel when there are so many returning characters and organisations.

they are the "invisible hand" (illuminati End, DX1) behind the decision... an invisible hand for an invisible weapon ??

I also think they will have a great part in DX:IW, though if JC took control (as I think he will have), they might be even more invisible than in DX1

I always figured the illuminati were a large part of 'JC's organisation'. I bet JC's not really in charge, though - Morgan Everett or someone is probably the power behind the throne. What the hell does JC know about mangaing a conspiracy anyway?

JC might have started picking up 'conspiracy thinking' during DX1, and there have been many years since then to develop it. And I wonder what Helios knows about managing conspiracies.

Aye, JC prolly took out Everett because he is the Supreme Enlightened now. He might even have unfrozen the last leader of the Illuminati.. what's his name...

Dunno about anyone else, but the Illuminati always gave me the creeps. When I met Everett, it was like, if Bob Page hadn't beaten him to it , it would have been Everett Industries I was battling... Even the first time I played it, in which I totally failed to find either Lucius Debeers or Morpheus, I still thought he was a bit of a s***.

yeah am not likin the Illuminati. they're all about giving the half truth, usually less. Like Everett was with Lucious de Beers. didnt even tell him dat da technology to bring him back to life was available. for shamme Everette. I think if Everette's around in DX2 he'll still be using JC as a tool, just like he did with Lucious.

The part with Lucius DeBeers creeped me out.

One question about Morgan Everett's HQ - is there anything in the aquarium? Besides water and fish and stuff, I mean. I did find my way to the second part of the aquarium, but I couldn't find anything there. Just a weird part of the game, or did I miss something?

Theres some kind of dart and a rebreather. Why they would be in the aquarium, I don't know.

I understood the Illuminati: their cause, their methods of conduct, their secrecy. I understood Tong's paranoia but could not bring myself to sympathize with him. Helios, I could understand him, but...to lose myself as a few entries in a computer database, to give up control of my mind....

Dowd was a nice man, and Everett was quite friendly. He didn't say a thing as I hacked into his security computers and stole his augmentation supplies.

Dowd was all right but Everett was frankly scary. It wouldn't susprise me to find out that he and Tong had some kind of private war or something

Someone on the Ion Storm boards posted a connection between the Illuminati and the Tarsus organization.
