View Full Version : Finished BO1, which game to play next?

Hi, I have just finished BO1, and now I am bit confused because I heard that Vorador is in BO2, but that is not possible because he losed his head in BO1 with a Gelatine (spelling?). I did heard some rumors that in soul reaver 2, Kain goes back in time and change a few things. So the question is, which game do I have to play next:
1. after BO1, BO2
2. after BO1, Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, BO2
3. after BO1, Soul Reaver, BO2, Soul Reaver 2 (this is most unlikely but they said it on a fan website)
Thanks already,

It's spelled: guillotine. :)
The order that I typically play the games is BO, SR, SR2 and BO2. I personally feel that this is the best way to keep track of things (especially where altering time and paradoxes are concerned). Other people choose to mix it up a bit, though.
Welcome to the forums, Vae Victus. :)

First of all Thanks for the Spelling :p !
And second, thanks for helping me, but I choose to play BO2
because now I am still in the story of Kain, sort of speak.
Although Vorador and other paradoxes will probaly be a bit strange to understand, but I am planning to play SR and SR2 anyway. So I'm thinking I do the order like this:
BO, BO2, SR, SR2
Sort of how the timeline goes!
And the second reason is the hot vampiress Umah! :D
But thanks again for your help,
P.s. Thanks for welcoming into the Forums

Yes and no, but I will leave that for you to figure out on your own. ;)
You're very welcome for both the spelling and response. Should you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask. :)
Happy posting.

So basically, play them in the order they were released in... ;)

Look, I'm going to be straightforward with you, there's really only one way to play the games. First, BO, SR, then SR2, and last BO2. Any other way just doesn't work, seriously. I played Blood Omen 2 before Soul Reaver 2 and when I played Soul Reaver 2 I was just so upset with myself for playing Blood Omen 2 before it that even today I regret it, and I'm still peeved at myself. You got to play them the order they each came out, if not you'll regret it big time, trust me, each game is interconnected and sets up the events that are going to come in the next game, there's really no other way, regardless of what anyone else will tell you. You don't want to get your Birthday present before you Birthday, and then be disappointed because it would've been so much better if you got the gift on your Birthday, do you? Would you see the last season of your favorite show before the first? Trust me on this its the only way to go.

well i'am finally playing through BO2 which was sitting around collecting dust.I wanted to do a kindof 'overload' all at once. But after seeing the pretty pic's of defiance i think it was enough to get me to finish off the games.
i say play the games in the order they're in BO1,BO2,SR1,SR2....I wish i had played them in that order.
I'am playing the game at 1920/1440 res & don't see any difference in quality above 1600 res
- been playing it some more & am in the upper citty after spotting an old friend/enemy vampire.I'am starting to really like the game.It guess i was wrong to jump to conclusions without playing the game some more tho i still think SR2 is prettier.
- now in the safaran lords keep & i HAVE to say THIS GAME ROCKS,the textures are the same quality as SR2 & the architecture is stunning.MANG i LOVE this series,I REALLY think CD should get an award &/or 'classic game' award.
I don't thinkthey've been properly recognised for thier work.
The music is perfect, couldn't ask for more.Did i say i love the game?:D

Well...I have finished all the LOK games...except Defiance!
And I want to thank everyone who helped me decide wich game to play after BO1.
And I want to thank Draken especialy, because he told / ordered me... into the abyss...ehh..sorry...I ment playing BO2 as the last game till Defiance!
This way I wasn't spoilered for SR2!
So for the people who do not know which game to play after BO1 here's a list:
1. Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
2. Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver
3. Legacy of Kain Series: Soul Reaver 2
4. Legacy of Kain Series: Blood Omen 2
5. Can't wait...Legacy of Kain Series: Defiance!!!
Another big thanks for the people who helped me decide on how to play the series!

Deinately do SR2 before BO2, and you'll need SR1 before that. Just go in release order. BO2 has some nice moments (IMO) that you just won't get if you don't play SR2 before. And it has nothing to do (IMO) with paradoxes and changed histories. just how stories interact.
