i'm on the bridge. i open the door with the wheel, pull the switch, run across bridge to beat the timed door. fine, i'm in. but the door doens't close, so when i pull the block, i'm trapped behind the door, and cannot enter the new passageway.
what am i missing here?

I'm not sure but I think you can push the block insted of pulling :)

Push the block and you will see on the left-hand wall a switch which opens a trap door (I think).
