Zooming with a laptop

I don't have a keypad because I am using a laptop. The + & - keys only work when I use the shift key and this will not work for zooming. Does anyone know how to zoom with a laptop?

either get a wheel mouse or plugin a keyboard or use your function keys to access the number pad
