Help! Help! Tr4 Im Stuck

hI, can neone helpme. I am stuck quite near the beginning of tr4. I have played tr3 but this one is puzzling me cos i can't work out what to do. i'll describe it best as poss. i am at the part where the bloke that is guiding me in the first level has lit the water and it goes to fire. I t is when he lights it on the second pool but i'm in a room where there is a pattern on the floor but fire comes out of the floor randomly. there is a gate on the wall at the back of the room. it is in the centre and it has a little timer sand thing (well that's what it looks like). this is where i am stuck, what do i do. HELP ME PLEASE.:mad: :mad:

Hmm, pattern on the floor meaning symbols on certain squares? If so, jump from on symbol to the other, all the way across the room, without stepping off the symbols. This should open the grate, and you'll be able to grab the object.

Maybe this'll help, and maybe not. I only vaguely remember that part of the level...

Look closely at the symbols. Some are brighter than others. If you mess up without burning Lara to a krisp, go downstairs to the pull-chain and reset the puzzle. Each time you step on a correct symbol, a torch on the wall will light.
