An idle thought...

Has anyone ever noticed that if you put TR1 in your cd player and skip track one that it plays various music tracks from the game? I did that by accident when i was little with a frogger game and it had everything. My friend tried it with TR2 and it worked for her as well. BUT, it does not work for AOD (rats, darn, and a kick in the shins). Was this something they forgot to do, (ahem) or does it only work for older games? Please, somebody enlighten me.

It has to do with how they put the music on. Tomb Raider 1 and 2 are both combined data+music cd's. From Tomb Raider 3 on they used compressed audio. That means you can put a lot more data on a cd if you compress it.

see it like this:
you can burn about 100-200 MP3's (compressed music) on a normal cd. If the average song is about 3 minutes, you can have 300-600 minutes of music on a cd! That's a lot more than the limit of 74/80 minutes if you wouldn't compress it!

Hope this was helpful ;),

That was very helpful, thanks a bunch. My favourite track on TR2 is the one that you can play in Lara's house. The one that sounds all synthersizer-classical-music-ish. Very good homework music. :D
