Some of you guys and girls say you are playing DX without killing anybody. Now I thought i also could do that but how should i handel the hostage situation in the subwaystation in batterypark and how should i handel the situation in the NY hotel. Just wondering/

Tranq darts are your friends. They're necessary to keep the hostages from getting killed.

For the subway:
Take out the three NSF at the blocked entrance one at a time (otherwise, you're likely to get killed). You can then get a clean shot at the remaining terrorists from the crates – again, one at a time, and it's best to run back up the stairs after every shot (especially since the one guy has a flame thrower).
For the hotel:
If you enter from the front, you have a shot at one of the two NSF guys upstairs, and if you aim just a bit high, you can hit him. He and his buddy will come gunning for you and ignore the hostages. But don't forget about the third guy downstairs.

If you look in one of the buildings near the subway entrance, you'll see steam coming up from a grate. You can enter that grate and go into the subway ventilation shafts. From there you can take shots at the soldiers from above. It also allows you to stay away from the hostages. This also allows you to take care of the three soldiers without worrying about using the EMP grenades.

At least that's the way I've done it every time I play.

That's also the way I did it ( but thx) But I just wonderd if there was a way to free the hostage without killing any NSF and Catman gave it.

I've gotta say, freakzillia: that way didn't work for me! The 3 NSF by the entrance came running in to get me and set off the damn TNT themselves!

And I got the blame for apparently shooting everywhere!


Can anybody tell me how you can shoot using a Combat Knife? Anybody?

the game doesn't see that far. since you should be the major firepower in the place, if everything blows up, (and there is no witness left), you must be guilty.

try a ranged weapon (like tranq crossbow), to take out the 3 in the entrance, then you can either go down the stairs and take the others out (watch out for the guy with the flamethrower, the water is far from the subway), or go through the ventilation grate, and take them more securely (but always from a distance) from one of the tunnels
