Yes indeedy...had the computer repair guy (Rich) come over to the house to see about my sick computers. He has fixed the majority of problems and the only thing left is waiting for a CD copy of I.E.6 to reinstall as that seems to be the only hangup now. Everything else works fine :) Cost me a couple of bucks but well worth it to me! He was here for quite awhile, at least 2 hrs or more and only charged me $157.50 I feel that was pretty reasonable all in all. My network is working again so now I can see both computers on each machine not just on one of them as before :) The system boots up properly now and shuts down. Had a very good diagnostic proggie that eliminated a lot of stuff that was not needed, etc.

Unfortunately (this is for Nightwalker) I found out I couldn't use that virus proggie either. He said it was for the newer OS's and couldn't be used on WIN98 :( So I gave it to him. He did tell me about a site and recommended it highly as a place to get a free virus scan and FIX! I think I heard about it a little, called Pandasecurity.com He said they have a demo but you can pay $39./yr and get updates but says their Customer Service is top notch and available 24/7 via phone on an 800#. This sounds like the way for me to go and will look into it soon.

So there you have it for now and will be ready for the next phase :) Ta and Good Hunting!

I'm glad to hear you're up and running, Huntress! It doesn't matter about the virus program. I'm sure he'll find a use for it. Now you'll be able to have some fun with your computers instead of always worrying about what's working and what's not. :)

Yes, thanks Nightwalker :) I do feel bad about not using the scanner and I did appreciate your sending it to me but seeing as how I really don't have any intentions of using WINXP anytime soon, LOL, I felt it was a worthy cause to let him have it. He and this other man have a small shop and perhaps he'll run into someone who can use it or use it in their machines for repairs???? He's been very considerate to me in our dealings and hoped you wouldn't mind my passing it on :)

My Son David, and Family took a short vacation to go down to Southern CA area and stay at a couple of resorts to enjoy the beaches, etc. I had the fun of taking care of his dog, Jethro, for awhile again and he's been good company. They return home sometime tonight at which time he will go home with them to Antioch. Kindof makes me want a dog again but not sure I want to be tied down again...I'm getting a little past wanting extra responsibilities again :( Between my body aches and my BD coming up..guess I'm feeling a little gloom passing overhead! :D Anyway, have a good day and always, Good Hunting!
