View Full Version : Problem with Skrasher thingies

i hope someone can help me here. i had a really good game going, and hadn't saved in a while...then one of those big skrasher bug thingies came along and he sat in the middle of my zedem monk temple beneath the blue obelisk thingy. he wont move and all my security skuzzers and peeps just kind of hop around it in a circle. they have weapons but they wont shoot it! its really annoying! I fired all the zedem monks to make the stones and obelisk sink back into the ground, and the stones did...but the obelisk is stuck along with the skrasher! is there anything i can do??????

Try waiting for a saboteur to drop a bomb on your station. Then beam-up the bomb (pause if you can't find it in time) and drop it next to the Skrasher. That might kill it.

I had that happen to me once. I said cool, and praised it. I seem to recall it managed to sort itself out somehow, but I'm buggered if I know.
You could wait until it turns into memaus again.

This is a bug that was resolved in the patch. You'll have to be drastic here, and repack your temple.
Interested? OK, here goes...
You can place items on the Bio-Deck, right? And if you've tried to get the temple underwater, you'll have found there is a square of 'temple area' that can't go underwater? This is because the game engine treats it like a room, with room space, so that it can function with the game code. So if it has room space, then if you place an item there (litter bin, street lamp, even Father Zeodorus for all I care), then right-click, you'll bring up the room interface for the Zedem Temple!
But wait, there's more. You can power down your Temple too, if you don't want Penitents but like the temple. And most importantly of all, you can repack - yes, repack - the Zedem Temple. But if you unpack it, get the blueprint, and place it - disaster. Your Scuzzers will surround it, but won't be able to build it, and rightly so because the Zedem Temple was never meant to be built like that. Recycle the hardplan instead.
Then employ a Zedem Monk, and replace your Temple!
So how's that rating, out of 10?

MF might want to consider patching so that items can't be placed in the Temple, though. I mean, it is a hazard if you try to build it...

Wow! I'm doing that tonight!
What I love doing is taking the Tiny Land tool and raising a narrow spire directly under where the Temple headstone should be (before the Monks build it). The Temple will slowly transform the land around it as more Zedem Monks are hired. The result will be a temple on a pinacle with people running up the sides of this with their bodies horizontal! It's fun to watch.
