I'll make my own reviews on the game -- I'm not worried about the ones that are already out. If Core can make 5 excellent games, what is stopping them from making a 6th?

Ok how's this: when a company starts making a game they have to ESTIMATE how long it will take for them to make it.

They estimated November -- but didn't make it. You do realize that they've seriously expanded the game and have added a whole new bunch of great things.

It's hard to stick to a specific release date sometimes, especially when you are running into bugs that you didn't know existed before.

I think they should have stopped making dates until they were 100% sure, but they didn't want us to loose interest.

I agree, 110%. Bugs arose in the new things they added, obviously. And even the pre-release that was given to the authors that were to write the Strategy guide was totally different than what the final release became. Supposedly you pick up Lara's second pistol when The Cleaner supposedly drops one. Not too sure on that, but there was also a couple things they said that Eckhardt did when you were up against him, and they were already done when the battle starts. It just shows how much Core changed the game in a short amount of time. For all we know, the PC release might have all these things put BACK into the game. One thing i do look forward to is using the mouse to move the camera around, that should be awesome.

Hmm, after Empirical Indy, I'm not so keen to use the mouse to move the camera. From what the PS2 gamers posted on this forum it appears that AoD controls will present another big suck'o'rama, unless they changed them for the PC version. (<-PLEASE! Tell me it won't be like Empirical Indy!).

Don't worry, Xander. The PC controls don't look like too much of a departure from the old PC controls.. Just take a look here.. http://www.tombraiderchronicles.com/tng/controls.html

Well, so far as the Strategy guide says, "use the mouse" is how to adjust the camera. I played the Demo version of Indy, and i adjusted to playing that way... actually, i'm sure AOD will control a lot like Indy's new game. I am rather annoyed that Lara doesn't backstep or hop back anymore, but you just get used to it. Core pretty much had to do that becase we can't use the D-pad anymore on the PS2, since the D-pad is now used for weapon selection. The analog sticks and game controller were made for a reason, and Core decided to use them to their advantage. I don't think i'll be able to EVER play one of the original Tomb Raiders that supported Analog mode with the analog controller. I tried on TR3, and the controller just doesn't give you the precision you need, and feedback was slow when switching from walk to run. I hated it, and AOD at least improved on the analog usage. The camera is still nice, though, and if in the PC version we use the mouse to move the camera, i hope we use a mouse button to center the camera, because pushing R3 on the controller centers the camera. Guess we'll just have to see.

Lara does backstep, she just doesn't hop back anymore.

Just press the walk button and move back to backstep.

PC version has been delayed again. Hey, I got an idea? Why doesn't Eidos follow Duke Nukem Forever's creators' idea? Just put a date "When it's done" and stop playing around with the customers?
