First details of the next tombraider game

"Our plan for the trilogy is very much to have one out every 12 months, because we've got them planned out and we're not going to touch the technology, so we're going to play with the storyline - and our plan is to spin the next one in a year. Our plan is to have it, I'm hoping, before June next year. Worst case would be in a year, but hopefully before that." Tempting as it was, we didn't dare ask Eidos if it had a solid date for the sequel...

Explaining this ostensibly massive u-turn from Core's position at the time AOD was announced - where Lara was said to be moving in a darker, edgier, more adult direction - Heath-Smith explained: "Lara's pretty good in Paris, but in hindsight, we were scared of taking her straight back to tombs. We thought people had had enough of tombs, but the reality is, I don't think people can get enough of tombs and all that stuff. So we're gonna go pretty big on that. Full on, old-skool Lara action? Back to basics, shall we say? "Yeah!" exclaimed Heath-Smith. "We were nervous of going back there. We felt we had to make a statement; I think we've now made that statement and we can draw the consumer back in, the players are gonna love it and I think we can take them back with a real good trip in the next game.

Personally, I think it might be a good idea to let us finally get our hands on Angel of Darkness before they start taunting us with promises for the next Tomb Raider! :mad:

It's so weird that the USA gets it first and England has to wait for it. I mean: Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider-games are originally British, right? And the same goes for Belgium! I mean: Lara Croft's and Tomb Raider's greatest (read: most obsessive) fan and player lives in Belgium, right? :rolleyes: :D

Anyway, don't be too sad that the game hasn't been released yet. Everything has an ending (even Star Wars in 2005 :D ) and it can't be long anymore before you'll find yourself playing this most fantastic game! Like Bon Jovi and Jo Dee Messina sing in each of their classic rock songs: "Keep the faith!" :)

And for now we'll just have to be "living on a prayer" that they release it here :D . But i hear Final Fantasy 11 was released a year ago in Japan but were still waiting here so i hope it isnt a look at the future of AOD. I doubt it though.

LMAO peeps!!!! I will 'Keep the Faith' when it comes to my band they haven't let me down!!

However, with regard to Tomb Raider, I definitely feel let down. I'm one of those people who believes what they are told and what they read, not all of it but most of it. I've defended Eidos so many times lately with regard to delays, telling everyone that the delays will be worthwhile, the game will be fantastic and worth the wait. But now I just feel used, the least Eidos could do is have the common courtesy to tell us what the hell is going on. I know in the grand scheme of things my whingeing means nothing to them, but I am a paying customer and I deserve a little respect!!! :mad:

I have it from a reliable source that it'll still be out when it's out but there is a chance it could be earlier if it's out earlier but then there's always the other chance that it'll be later, in which case it will arrive later............

im not saddened or angry by the delays, but i am getting kinda fed up. i feel as if ill never get to play it! but good things come to those who wait.

and btw godfather i agree, i would've thought people in Britain would've gotten it before the US since the game originated there.

That's probably debateable...

I've completely covered my bedroom walls with tomb raider pictures. Theres no white left visable. I've got all the figures avaliable, soundtracks, games (on pc & ps), posters, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Beat that.
