I don't hate him, but trust me - I'll try to shot him, or so :)

(Loyalty is the correct word?)

Close. "Loyalty" is the noun form, the adjective form to use in the sentence is "loyal".

Not to worry, though, after 6 years classes in school I have no idea what the equivalent word is in Spanish, so you're way ahead of me in the multilingual category.

And while I don't hate Kurtis either, I admire your fealty (synonym for "loyalty") to Lara and the strength and integrity of your well-known aversion to all things Kurtis.

The saying regarding such loyalty is like this: "Dance with the one what brung ya." And that, of course, is grossly grammatically incorrect. ;)

I don't particularly share your pov, but if you've played the game, you'll see just how Kurtis fits in. He's cute, so really he doesn't need much else going for him ;) but he just fits into the story well. As the Preview on GameSpot says, Lara's the brain, Kurtis is the brawn. He's all about action. He's not taking over Lara. Core knows they can't do that. They can spin off a new game with him POSSIBLY, although latest rumors are that he dies in AOD, which scared me, i am just past playing as him (the first time; at least, i hope i get to play as him more, cuz 2 levels isn't enough!) and need to find out what happens in the story as Lara and Kurtis try to foil Eckhardt's plans together. It's LARA that suggests they work together, so hey, give the girl a break! She's changed after Egypt, remember? Sure, Core wrote the story, but i think if you're a good enough Tomb Raider fan (i'm not setting criteria, fans come in all degrees), you'll embrace Kurtis for this adventure. He's a great guy, really. Wish he was real...

My loyality will always with my dear old friend Lar's. Kurtis looks a little bit of a drop kick from what I have seen so far.

I must say that he's not as cute as the guy Lar's took for the first adventure he was a total babe he and Lar's should have got married but unfortunately he got killed off.

Which one? Pierre? Larson? I can't think of who else she was with on the first Tomb Raider, it's been so long since i played... But i don't think either was really that cute. The both appear in Chronicles, of course, and well, Larson is sucha bone-head. LOL. Pierre, oh, he was a character, too. Core built backstories now, though, on all the characters you end up having some sort of relation with. You feel bad when *spoiler* Rennes gets killed by Eckhardt. At least, i did. It was also a shocker, a couple people said the game almost should have had an M rating because of a lot of the gore that you see later in the game. It is intense, but then again, this is a darker tale.

He walks like he's got something up his butt, runs like a cave man, and looks like an ape in stealth mode.

I could have lived without him, and Im hoping he doesnt make any future appearances in TR anymore. I don't like him. Not one bit.

This is what Kurtis's teacher must have said about him. He doesn't "listen to directions". Just getting him out of the airduct in the sanitarium is a chore. 10 bucks says he was a good portion of the reason Lara Was delayed.

I don't see why so many people had so many problems controlling him. I did fine, he almost performed better than Lara. I like his "crawl" better than Lara's, he's speedier getting in and out of crawl mode. And as far as i've found out, the only way to get out of any crawlspace that's elevated is to flip forward out of it. I've tried the other way but gave up.

I haven't played the game yet, so I can't comment on his controls, but I do like the fact that he was added to the game. TR needs to expand and evolve if it wants to prevail. Granted, it sounds like the overall execution of AOD won't help matters, but I think the idea was a good one.

Indeed, Kurtis makes this game "new", as does a lot of the new features. Interesting, no more Kurtis bashers, they either "converted" or they went back into hiding. *yay* My battling in the right of Kurtis may be over! Hehe.

I would prefer Kurtis not be in the game at all but if he has to be there, he should be an optional character not shoved down our throats. It would have been far more cool if the story reached point X where the player decided which character to roll with and each one had a completely different path. Of course that would be asking too much especially in light of all the various issues the game allegedly has. Oh well, at least with the PC version, someone somewhere will post some savegames on the web and I can just skip over the parts that have the weirdo with the frisbee and a merkin on his chin.

So flamingblue8z, did you buy your copy of AoD at Southern Park Mall?

OH MY GOD! YES I DID! How did you know that?! The old Software Etc., now is GameStop. *shudder* In the first day they had 36 copies, all sold out by the time i got there at 2, and i was lucky they just got an emergency shipment in. But OMG, you just creeped me out. But no, you can't say anything about Kurtis' facial hair, because i have the same, been growing it for 3 years. And what is this whole thing about calling him a weirdo. He actually is the male version of Lara. So i'm both mad at you for saying that and like, weirded out that you know the mall that is 3 blocks away from me. *shudder*

I have not had the pleasure of playing Kurtis yet (due to work and helping with my best friends wedding, been busy) but I do think it's wierd to have another character in TR. I'm so use to Lara being on her on, she is women hear her roar! That's what made the game so great. You have this bada$$ strong women dong it on her own without a MANS help. Untill Lara came around there weren't many lead female character games out there. But I'm not going to diss KT cause I think that him a Lara could have a bright future! ;)

Indeed :) I was thinking about Tomb Raider II earlier, which is where i got my start, and i was like "wow, i can't believe i play a game that has a girl toting around guns", and i was like, dude, this is perfect for any gay man. LOL, and then AoD just made things better because Kurtis almost is in the game against his choice. I mean, he's great, he can't leave. But the point is that he just happens to cross Lara's path, and he happens to have the same goal as her. So Lara suggests working together. Perfect. What else can i say? Anyway, off to play some more...

Although Kurtis is perfect for any gay man and straight/bi women. It naturally made alot of straight guys and gay gals jealous. Here is our woman, Lara, in danger of being violated! And, he makes it look like that she needs a man's help.
Those of us who are grade A redneck jealous possessive, aren't even going to give Kurtis a chance. Wether he is a good character or not. We want our woman Lara for ourselves.

Theres nothing that anyone of us can do about it now, cept sit on the front porch, hold our shotguns on our laps, and complain.

(Chew mint tobacco. It's better fer yah.)

LOL, that made an interesting mental picture, sitting on a porch holding a shotgun... wearing overalls. LMAO. Kurtis probably won't help her, just co-exist, kinda like he did in this game. He undid what she did, though, for instance...

when she turned off the power and Kurtis had to turn it back on

Wow, i can use the spoiler thing. That's pretty cool. Now people won't complain :)

Carhartt overalls.

I guess some of us rednecks are easy to figure out.
