Hello everybody, (I'm new)
I can’t wait to play the new Tombraider game (probably just like the rest of you) I’m really wondering what they have made of it, because when you see those game trailer you hardly see any tombs…In my opinion the non tomb levels aren’t as much fun. (like the London and area 5 levels in tr 3 and the last adventure in tr 5)
Well I was just wondering what you’re all thinking of the up coming game
Greets,
Solan

Although I've enjoyed tomb raiding, I must say they've brought Lara outside the tombs and inside the 'real' world (I'm starting to sound an awful lot like Morpheus now, don't I? :D) on the right time. Five games presenting tombs would've killed the Tomb Raider-franchise for sure. If there's one thing that kept this amazing saga alive, except for the coolness of the game and the appearance of Lara Croft herself, then it surely is the way each game differs from one another.
IMHO, they're just doing all right. The more realistic surroundings, the better. Eventually, I would like to see Lara Croft breaking into people's houses or wandering through the streets or diving bullets while other innocent people get killed.
Makes things more realistic, no?
bye for now

Hi Solan! You have almost all of my name! :D
Welcome to the forum! :)
Opinions? I'm excited, but not in a hurry! I need to get my TR 3 disk from my brother, he borrowed it and won't return it! And I want to finish that before I start with AOD...

I've read quite alot of previews and they've said that whilst playing in the demo there was something wrong with the camera-angle. Hope those eidos guys fixed it cause I reckon camera angles have to be the no 2 disadvantage of tombraider(no1-BUGS).
That polygon thing was a good move and also adding that stealth, hand to hand combat;).
Laras house isn't going to be in it right? Which sucks cause I really enjoyed exploring around her house

1) Nothing will beat the original tombs, especially the levels/architecture/atmosphere of TR1.
2) OAD has pretty dissapointing graphics - looks just like the other TR's!!!
3) The whole dark/mystical/mysterious vibe seems mighty intruiguing and has great possibilities.
4) I think it all lies within the ways their advancing the tr series. I wanna see characters interacting, talking, rpg elements. Advanced tactical espionage elements. More intense action, better controls. More atmosphere, ambience etc... LOTS of adventuring, awesome innovative architecture.
5) Kurtis looks cool. I hope Lara n Kurtis have a proffesional, tense Mulder/Scully relationship.

How can you say something about the graphics.. It'S hard to believe that you've played the game..

Paris is a big city, and it has catacombs in it. They were used because of Paris's limited cemetery space, are underground, and are such that when you die, you're only allowed to be buried in a cemetery for so many years, then your body is dug up, your coffin discarded, and your bones are placed in these mass tombs. There's one in Paris, and many more across Europe, especially Italy. They're underground and can literally be several miles in length each. Also, just about every church older than 400 years probably has the tomb of a dead cardinal or bishop in it. I don't think it's unrealistic for Eidos to add the catacombs to Tomb Raider because of the location the game is set in, assuming the whole game isn't a murder-mystery detective story.

.
Not really.
They still went for a videogame look as opposed to hyper-realism, but the new graphics are way ahead of the old ones.

Welcome to our big ole happy family, here at Eidos, Solan! You really are almost "Solange"!
LM ..... I didn't know you was "one of Us, darlin'"!
The graphics had to have gooten better and the only ones that are important; i.e. no more polygonal ass for Lara, have been smoothed out! (Sorry, mods ...... hey, but wait! The trailer says somthing about "ass-kicking combat" doesn't it? :D
