Well, a few months ago I used to have a problem because I did not understand why the reaver in SR2 started sucking souls. But thanks to you people and to this forum I learned the reason.

What I would like to know is during SR2 after the wraith blade started suking souls, why it didn`t sucks souls in the spectral realm, beacuse even in there the wriath blade was no longer in a dormant state ?

Any ideas pls.

The Reaver is just like Raziel in this regard. Raziel is naturally (post Abyss anyway) a spectral creature. While in the spectral realm he doesn't lose energy (just the opposite actually) and it doesn't require any effort for him to remain there. However in order to shift to the material realm he has to gather matter to himself so that he has substance, though this is a drain on him and cannot be maintained indefinitely. The Wraith Blade when fully awakened expends more energy than it did while it was dormant and thus requires sustenance from Raziel and his enemies, but while in the spectral realm it's in it's natural form and doesn't require life force to sustain it (energy is gathered from its environment).

I think the non-story reason is that if it sucked souls in the spectral realm, it would be impossible for Raziel to get any himself since he can't turn it off there.
