I haven't read the comics myself, only seen the (first) movie. And judging by that, I'll have to say Wolverine. Xavier is cool too. I will see the second movie shortly.

CYCLOPS!!! They massacred his character in the movies and made him such a loser! I love Cyclops, he was my hero growing up. Lol.
Next is PSYLOCKE cuz she's gorgeous and just plain awesome. I love her Psyche Knife!!!

In the movie - Deathstrike and perhaps Wolverine
In the comics - Gambit
THE True Lara

Wolverine, always has been, always will be ;)
Have you noticed how all the characters in the movies seem to be younger than their originators in the comics/ cartoons?

I'd have to go with the following myself: (And there are a couple from each medium, because I like the ones I list about the same).
Comics
Psylocke
Exodus
Lilandra Nerimani
Gladiator
Gambit
Movies
Nightcrawler
Mystique
Pyro
(Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy Wolverine, Nightcrawler, Xavier, Magneto, Archangel and various other characters in the series).

And because purple is THE COLOR!
I started collecting X-men comics at number 99...just before the New X-men started with Wolverine and others. Then Beast was my favorite but now it's Wolverine!!!!!! Hugh Jackman is great as the character, even if he isn't as short. Love those claws!:D

I haven't got round to seeing X2 yet so I'm gonna have to go with my impressions from X1 for now. ;)
Wolverine is probably one of the best characters in both comic and movie form. Cyclops and Storm were underused in the 1st movie and although Rogue in the movie is OK, I prefered the comic/cartoon version. She's too "angsty teenager" in X1.
Mystique was probably one of the more fun characters in the movie (though why she needs to prance around in the nude is beyond me :P). Xavier and Magneto are both very well cast and played in the movie...kudos to Stewart and McKellen. :)
I'd like to see Psylocke and more of the Beast in any future movies (after X2). I liked both of them in the comic and cartoon forms and they'd make cool additions to the team in the movies.

Lady Deathstrike all the way.
I don't read the comics, but I've seen the differences between the movie Deathstrike and the comics one. The movie one is my choice :D

X2 was WAY better than The Matrix: Reloaded!!!
Go see it!!!
The Blackbird scene, the final fight, the storyline, the characters, the cameos, the Nightcrawler... Lol - too good.

I think they did a great job with Mystique in the movies. She's turning out to
be the super spy she's supposed to be.
Allan Cumming was great as Nightcrawler.
If you like Wolverine and Mystique, there's an X-men novel out there called:
Codename: Wolverine by Christopher Golden. It's a tale of Wolvie & Mystiques's old spy days
and features Sabertooth, Black Widow, Wraith, Silver Fox, and Maverick.
I haven't read a lot of X comic except for a few storylines over the past several years, but this book was a top notch spy thriller.

I might have to check that out DEEK. I am also kind of partial to Maverick.

I was disappinted with Rogue, Storm, and Cyclops in the movies. They didnt get enought action, but they were still great movies.

I'm going to refer back to the old days when I use to watch the old X-Men cartoons...
Gambit-energy blasts, plus I was young he was cute (for a cartoon)
Jubilee-her name is kicka$$, Jubilation Lee-pretty fireworks (exploding plasma) same difference
Rogue-How can you not love a girl who sucks the life outta ya?

favourite X-men is Storm, although she's a bit dull in the fist X-men movie (haven't seen the 2nd yet, is she better in that one?)
I've likes storm since i fisrt saw her in the arcade game of X-men, wich is to long ago.... (you know the 4 player beatm up)

I saw maybe 2 episodes of the cartoon and never read the comics, so my answer is nbot based on that. From the movie (and the demo found in the PS1 I bought for my boyfriend at the time) it is Nightcrawler (rou-rou) He is soooo cool, and he had the best scene in the movie(the 2nd)

All are great but JEAN GREY is so... hmm... I guess I'd better take a shower...
I remember the old times, 80's, when they talked about the "New X-men"... The movies, mainly the second one, are very good but may sound, look, feel, kind of weird for non-fans I guess. I mean, they thrusted years of story into a 2 hour movie - hard to digest.

Cartoon series: Rogue (even had a large poster of her on my wall at one time).
Movie: Mystique (Cool talent and she walks around naked). But Rogue came in a close second.
Wolverine is cool, but seems too normal. Glad he took off with Cyclops ride. He deserved it for putting up with him.
Didn't see the second movie yet.
