personally, i dont think ''angel of darkness'' is a very creative or original title and im quite surprised that there isn't more games/movies/books/ect with that title.

If "angel of darkness" is not very creative, then what about "attack of the clones" ?
'Angel of darkness' may infer something satanic (the fallen angel, Lucifer, etc), but it may also refer to Lara ("fallen from light, reborn in shadow"), and also the two words in this phrase ('angel' and 'darkness') represent an intriguing contradiction: while an 'angel' is y associated mostl with good and positive things, the word 'darkness' gives an interesting twist to its meaning (is it an angel who casts light into the darkness, or an angel who rules the darkness?).

I see your point Xander and I agree that it is a good title that suits the game very well. All I was getting at is that the title "Angel of Darkness" sounds extremely familiar to me as if I've already heard it many times and I'm surprised that more stuff isn't already titled that.

The book isn't THAT old! It takes place in the 30s, but it wasn't written then. I read it several years back when it first came out. Not a bad read... absolutely no connection to Tomb Raider, of course.
And yes, "Angel of Darkness" is a pretty common term, so I don't think TR is really a rip-off... it's just using a well known phrase.

Yes, it is strange. 'Angel of Darkness' could be the title of a Buffy or Angel episode, or a vampire movie.
