Werner von Croy is possessed by an evil being. That's why he must have the 5 artefacts so the evil can be released. He tries to convince Lara to get those but Lara knows he is possessed so she shoots him.

haha I'm bad at this :D

What if one of the artifacts is INSIDE Von Croy ? ;) So Lara simply carried out Von Croy's instructions. :D

Are we certain that it was Lara who shot him? They keep showing the window, implying that maybe someone outside shot him...Maybe it was someone who was trying to protect Lara because Werner was going to shoot her? It just doesn't seem Like Lara to turn him over and comfort him if it was she who killed him.

The whole scene is so blurred during the action sequence that I can hardly make out anything, but you are right: we did not see Lara shoot Werner (possibly because it was not her who shot him). Despite her apparent resentment over Voy Croy's conduct in Egypt she seemed to be moved.

Don't you think it is great that they managed to add so much mystery and suspense to a short intro video like that?

And also, is it me or are the police and the medics not a little bit too fast at the crimescene?

Prescience? No. Apparently it is a badly disguised attempt to frame Lara.
