Top Shot :(
No matter what I do I cant do it!
Are there any strats for it or is it just all based on how good you are?
Plus I suck at using the radar otherwise it would be that much easier.
Ab ^_^
PS: R10-9 beta, I'll help ya later if no one has by then cos I'm alil strapped for time at the mo ^_^

R10-9 beta,
Have you found the Old Man yet? He'll completely refill your health when you meet him! He should come in handy!
There is a huge guide to all TS2 levels here,
<a href="http://www.game-revolution.com/games/codes/gamecube/timesplitters2_faq.htm">http://www.game-revolution.com/games/codes/gamecube/timesplitters2_faq.htm</a>
You should find the NeoTokyo guide very useful cause' it shares some really useful tips that you most likely didn't know. You should complete it in no time! :D
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AB-109,
Top Shot isn't about "skill". Belive me, I know. It's about pure cold hard luck...! Your gonna have to keep doing the level over and over untill you get lucky, (i.e. All the bots keep respawning really close to you)
Check out, <a href="http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/gamecube/game/30901.html">http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/gamecube/game/30901.html</a>
Look for a guide by "Kairi". It's a whole guide just for Top Shot! Read it over and you'll notice a few tips! Good luck! :D
And as for the radar problem, well I don't have much to say, but "Objects may apear closer than they really are!" :p.
Hope my advice helps!! :D :D :D

If you go to the main room and down the stairs (the big room with the huge stairs in the middle) and follow the path infront of you when you reach the bottom until you reach a dead end you'll see a 2xTommy gun.
After you get that walk back the way you came abit and you'll see 2 little hidden areas on each side of the room with a window. Go into the right one (assuming your just comming back from getting the guns) and you'll see a health pack.
Just crouch ontop of it and aim over the wall thingy and you should be able to see the Handymen's head as they come into the room. When they come in just shoot em, they'll have a hard time hitting you but if you do get hit your sitting on a medi pack so your ok just remember to collect thier ammo once in awhile when your running short.
Goodluck

I'd say the hardest part of Return To Planet X is when you have to stop the invasion with the 3 turret guns! once you do that bit you can just do the rest of the game really slowly and it should be fairly simple! I can only remember 3 main tips:
1. To do the turret bit I decided not to use the turret guns  , Nope I havent gone nuts! its just that if you do it the normal way (strafing from left to right on the upper bit (the bit with 2 turrets) and shooting) You have a huge field of view and you can see all of em and wont have to worry about any of them sneaking up begind you! plus if you do it this way they have a smaller chance of hitting you cos you should be able to see thier shots from a mile away and easily dodge em.
2. Whenever theres lots of aliens fighting each other, get away and find a small narrow area and wait there and take out anyone who happens to find you while the war is going on. When you dont hear anymore gunfire, carefully go back taking out the remaining.
3. The bit where you have to shoot down the space ships with the big turret gun things, use the gun furthest away and once you've killed them go back to the next turrest and look to the bottom-left and you should be able to take out a couple of guards who just appeared!
Goodluck ^_^

I'm asking for help, but mind you I'm NOT a noob. I just cannot play Co-op with my little brother because he sucks ass.
Anyway I need help with Chicago on Hard in co-op. I got up to the last part with minimal health and it took me and my little bro an hour and a half of retries (I completed this level on hard with full health and about 40% armor by myself in about five minutes.). I just need to know better strategies for taking out those snipers and how to divide up the resources.
Thanks!
AB-109

Start a co-op game and and leave one character behind while you use the other to get as far as possible then when he dies switch to the other character and finish it off that way you cant blame your co-op partner for being lame since both people are you!

Digit, first off no one is calling you a noob.... I've been playing for ages, and even though I have 60 plats, I still have trouble sometimes on Chicago. We all have trouble on Hard stages. (You've got to hand it to Free Radical, when they said "Hard", they meant "Bite-your-nails-raw-till they-bleed-cause'-you-can't-complete-the-level" HARD!) Anyway, you MUST kill the 5 snipers BEFORE you go outside, otherwise they will butcher you once you go outside. After you get the night club pass, go down one floor, to the room with the two windows, and QUICKLY run between the windows. Face the wall and SLOWLY walk to the side of either the left or right window, and kill the snipers one by one, but DO NOT run infront of the windows, otherwise they will shoot you too much and you will die. After they are "sleeping with the fishes" (acutally, I mean "sleeping with the undead!") run down and go outside. Equip your Tommy Gun, and SLOWLY make your way to the night club killing EVERYTHING you see! But don't run! There are enemys behind every corner, so walk very slowly. After you get to the checkpoint, the rest of the stage is SOOOOOO easy! So don't worry about it!
Hope this helps! Anyone else need help? We are here to aid you in your eternal quest!

For Robot Factory I kept bringing everybody back to the room where the scanner thing is, close to the beginning of th level. Set the scanner laser thing on offensive or attack mode or whatever and when someone sees you or spawns in, let them chase you back to the scanner laser thingy. Some bots can step over the laser, though, so keep a gun at the ready  Those big bots will take a long time to get to you, though, and listening to their footsteps will make you piss in your pants.
Later, I mean real far into the level, you can forget about the scanner thing, and go MGS style as previously mentioned in this thread.

Is fight off the living dead the one where you're in compound and with a shotgun? If so, I've only got one strategy, but I don't know if you could trust me because I've only gotten up to 65000 (I thought I had platinum at the time, but I decided to keep going, just to make sure, then I gave up because I was getting bored. Shoulda seen those zombies rush at me! [and kill each other]).
ANYWAY, shoot their heads. Stay back in the room so you can see where they're coming from and won't suprise you. When you see someone outside, and you think you can take them out, quickly run up to the doorway, aim, shoot, and retreat. Even if you didn't kill the zombie, run back, then run forward again. When they invade you, try to get them molded into one glob and shoot a zombie's head. Usually you'll get about 4 or 5 heads off in one shot.
But, as I said, this only got me up to 65000. (Although I did give up...)

Fight off the Living Dead:
Just remember the order they come in (same as all the other zobie challenges) and try to be quick and once they all get too much just keep running around them while shooting.
After a lil while the order is;
2 guys in the room on the right under the stairs
then one guy comes out of the left walkway
then back to under the stairs
then the guys who come thro the main door (you can take out 2 or 3)
then from the room on the left
then under the stairs
then guys from main door
etc etc until you finish the wave or it gets too much and you start runnin around! Watch out tho cos sometimes the order changes slightly so keep looking around.
Rocket Man:
If you look around the level you'll see these lil rooms in the walls which dont go anywhere (like an alcove or whatever), just grab a rocket and head to the nearest one and stand to one side shooting the floor right infront of you outside the little room every like second and just keep doing that until your low on ammo by then you should have killed at least one (ususually alot more) so just run our abit and collect the ammo.
Night Shift:
I dont remember this one well but if you get the homing rockets and stand either on the ramp in the middle (one which connects the 2 sides, the small one not that huge long one) or stand next to the door at the bottom righthand corner (looking at the main room with the ramps from the top) you should be able to see almost everyone who spawns in that room and you can take them out. If at any time it gets quiet and no ones around then walk thro the door your next to and around the corner you should find a couple of robots.
Big Top Blowout:
I suck at this one but what I did was just keep going from tent to tent cos most of them are in the tents and shoot like crazy cos it doesnt matter if you die aslong as you ensure a kill. I think the best tent is the one with those trailers with no walls (kinda like wagons) cos most people run thro there.
Top Shot:
Ahhh the evil Top Shot with Cpt Snow *shudders*.
GameCube: Keep respawning until you spawn in the room with the max damage powerup. If you spawn right next to the powerup but its behind you (meanging you have to turn around to get it) then grab it and head towards the minigun and you should see some guys and Cpt Snow and you should take them out before you reach the minigun after that collect the minigun but if you spawn facing the general direction of the powerup then go collect it and head outside and you should see Cpt Snow there so kill him and then head back for the minigun killing as you go. Then just go around killing the closest person to you but try to avoid killing people who have just spawned (Unless its Cpt Snow) otherwise you'll end up with 2 guys who have 3 lives each and you really dont want that.
Standing outside is usually good too cos you can shoot someone far away and most people head there/spawn there and remember where the flamethrowers are cos the bots will always go for those as soon as they spawn so if you can then throw a grenade towards the flamethrower to kill them as they go to collect it.
PS2: When you start head for the nearest minigun while taking out anyone you see around you and if you take out Cpt Snow then look at your radar after 3 seconds and watch where he respawns and go after him taking out anyone along the way.
Xbox: I'm not sure how the spawing works on xbox but I'm guessing it'll be the same as PS2 so do the same thing :D
Goodluck

Cold Corpse Caper..
Need I say any more?
Can't even get a fudgin' bronze!
RedXevious
05-06-2003, 11:55 AM
Ok, first thing you need to know, invizegoth, is that Cold Corpse Caper is a GLADIATOR match, which means ONLY THE GLADIATOR CAN SCORE!!! The gladiator is the player wth the yellow outline around them. The person who kills the gladiator, BECOMES the new gladiator. And that person will STAY the gladiator untill someone kills him. You must know this if your playing a gladiator match.
Ok, now here are some tips on getting the platinum award. When you start the level, find a pair of Tommy Gun X2. I like to go for the ones on the upper floor (on the balcony), cause' then I get a chance to pick up some armor as well. After you've got the double Tommy Guns, find the gladiator!! He is the BLUE DOT on the rader. After you find him, kill him and YOU will become the new gladiator, and you will remain as the gladiator untill you die. Now, since only the gladiator can score, take advantage of this and KILL EVERYONE YOU SEE, untill someone kills you. (If you're good enough, you will be able to make it through the whole level without dieing) Killing enemys is easy since you have the Double Tommy Guns! If someone does kill you, go and re pick up the Tommy Gung X2, and find the gladiator! Kill him, then kill everyone else! Get 45 kills for the platinum!
Hope this helps!
Now, who else needs help? I'm really happy about the turn out of this topic! 32 posts, and over 380 views... I never knew it would be this successful! I always wanted to start a help topic anyway, since Eidos didn't add one in this forum... So, if you need help, we are all here!

For me to give me ya any good advice I'd have to go back and try it again cos I can barely remember that one but I'll try!
Collect everything RedXevious told ya to collect and then head downstairs to the room with the mirrors and health which has 3 enterances (hope you know which one I'm on about) and then just keep anm eye on your radar until you see someone near by then shoot them and if you get hurt collect the health. Its a good place to stand cos most people spawn near there and they can all get there quick and even if you die you'll b near by so just go back and you'll find the gladiator there.

noob Tip No.1..... If you're having trouble completing Atom Smasher, at the end (after you kill Khallos) you could always lead the splitters away from the reactor... Up the staris near to where you found the fifth bomb... then when you get to the top, wait for em' to appear, then drop down back to the area with the crates, quickly run back to the reactor and activate the three switches, and run into the portal before they show up again!
This is a very well know tip that all TS2 players know, but I just thought I'd repost it here since so many noobs are still having problems with this stage... If you have any tips for noobs, please post em' here! :D Thanks!

I am severely stuck on the last challange- Damb busters. Well, I say severely but I can only get a sliver, Ive came 50 points from a gold but no better. Any advice?
AB-109
05-17-2003, 06:32 AM
I hate dam busters
1. Try to stay to the left/middle side but dont go to the right side cos hardly any monkey's appear there and even if they do it aint worth going all the way there.
2. Try to hit the monkeys when thier as far as possible so you can get combos and they'll be closer to the middle and easier to hit.
3. Use auto aim cos its easier and only fire your minigun in bursts so it doesnt heat up and if it does heat up and there arent that many monkey's on the screen then change weapon and then change back to the minigun for instant cooling (but you'll have to warm it up again).
4. I know everyone says you should make sure you give low rolling monkey's priority cos they make you lose 75pts if they hit the dam but 75pts is nothing compared to what you'd get if you get a combo ;) .
That's all I can think of, Good Luck and let us know how you get on ^_^.

Now, to get a plat on Dam Bursters, you need to get 9300 points or more. Which basicly means near to the end, you should be getting combos all the way up to 220, 230, 240 points, etc. Getting lots of combos above 200 points is essential to getting the plat.
AB-109 forgot to mention that you should be using the Autogun's alternate fire button so that bullets will be fired instantly, without the "spin-up" delay. Are you allready using the alternate fire? Sorry for asking... I'm just trying to make sure.
Wait for lots of monkeys to appear on the screen so you can get the combos, rather than just shooting them as soon as they appear! Although, near to the end, you won't need to wait anymore since tons of the monkeys always appear. And AB-109, if a monkey hits the dam wall, it deducts 30 points, not 75.
Keep going untill you get 9300! Try to get as many combos as you can, and you will do just fine! Hope all this helps! :D
NOTE TO THE MODS: Hey guys, this help topic has allready reached over 50 replies. Arn't you going to make it sticky? Sorry for asking. I'm just a bit curious...

Actually I didnt forget :p . You dont HAVE to use the alt fire cos if you keep tapping the fire button you can keep the guns spin just below firing rate while giving yourself like 1/4 of the heating bar for those valuable monkey kills near the end. I found it much easier doing it this way and thats how I got my plat.

Well, I guess Dam Bursters CAN be done without the alt fire, but it's way harder if you don't use it. I found it much easier when you used the alt fire, cause' then you don't have to keep tapping the fire button to keep the minigun "spinned-up". Anyway, the main point is to get 9300 or more, so do it however you want.
Now that that's all taken care of, anyone else stuck on a stage?

You have to align the columns so that the symbols facing eachother are the same and the face like symbol (the one on the door your trying to open) are facing the middle path.
I always find it hard to explain this one and would of been much easier to show but ah well.

for the people who are having trouble wth atom smasher on hard. i found this the hardest. Robot Factory piece of cheese.
When u get to the end. (this is by far teh hardest part of it) with the scourge splitters. get them to chase u up the ramp along to where the pipes are and turn right along the ramp which is broken. Wait for them and when they come jump off and run to get to teh swithces. Tehy go back the long way so u will have a long time to get a few of them. U wont do it in 1 turn so wait for them to come back kill tehm and dso it agina until u get them all.
this is how i did it and it works everytime just about.
Also i read somewhere about the robot factorey strat when u get the bots to chase u back to the scanner. That in my opinino is very lame and really seems to defesat teh point of the game but i congratulte u for teh staying power of doing it. Lol i will have got bored.
but really just takle u time going forward and only use grenades on the sentry and spider bots. that was my strat and ive completed it on hard. One of teh easiest level i found

Alright Mr Xevious, I have heaps of questions. First, is there a confirmed platnium time for the Dam Bursters Challange? My score has crawled up to 8760 and I'm wondering how close I am as it's the only one in Challange left.
Secondly, do you know a strategy for getting Plats in:
- Can't please everyone (zones) and
- Rice Cracker Rush
AB-109
06-02-2003, 01:40 AM
Well I aint Mr Xevious so maybe I shouldn't be answerin but I will :p
As far as I know the plat scroe for Dam Busters is 9000 so ya, you are pretty close.
On Rice Cracker Rush you should kill as many officers on the way to thier base and remember to use the speedup powerup and the cloak powerup but don't use them at the same time eg.
When you start head around the first corner then thro the buildin and get the armor (dont get the cloak on the way) then when you come out of the little building head for the speed powerup while shooting grenades towards the enemy (stick to the wall on your left when you come out of the building and you'll find a small doorway to a room with the powerup) after you get the speedup head towards the enemy base along the streets (dont go in the buildin cos its slower) and collect the bag and head back to your base along the same root collectin any armor if your about to die and when you've scored if you have less than half your health then kill yourself using a grenade to reappear with full power (its faster to use a plasma grenade and then shoot it). Now head to the enemy base and collect the cloak (unless someone has already stole it) get the bag and run back and then as you go for the 3rd time the speedpowerup should be back so collect that and just repeat the process until you've finished.
This should easily give you a plat but if your tryin to get a great time you should kill yourself when you have the bag and are near your base (good place is inside that small buildin with the armour) and while you run towards the enemy base one of your team mates will hopefully collect the bag and score for you. Don't kill yourself if the enemy is near by cos they'll get the back before you.
On Can't Please Everyone collect the grenade launcher and head towards the zones. If you see any undead priests then use the weapons secondary fire (flaming one) to set them alight which would make them run away and whenever you get a zone then leave a flaming grenade infront of it so that when a priest runs towards it he'll be stopped when he gets on fire.
After you've got all the bases head to the entrance to the toilet area and shoot a flaming grenade infront of it (most priests respawn here) while keeping an eye on your radar just incase a priest appears somewhere else and if he does go set him on fire.
If you didn't get that or want to see the tactics in action then download the videos from here.

Ok first off, you made a few mistakes AB-109. The plat score for Dam Bursters is 9300 NOT 9000 (I know, I know... You havn't played in a while, right?) As for Rice Cracker Rush, don't bother killing the ememies. It's a waste of time. Only kill the ones holding Plasma AutoRifles and AutoGuns since they are the biggest threat to you, and always pick up the Invisibility Power Up. And in Can't Please Everyone, pick up the Granade Launcher and set EVERYTHING on fire! Ememies, team mates, even yourself! This way worked best for me! It'll save time since you don't have to keep going back to pick up the GL every time you die! Yes... mabey you will die alot more often (since you will always be on fire) but it's better cause' all you have to do is touch someone to set them on fire, and that saves alot of time! I hope this helps!
By the way, if you want a list of ALL the plat times in TS2, go to http://home.san.rr.com/chanscorner/Stephen_records/plat_req.html
It's the best place for plat times, since all of the times here are like 100% accurate!

On superfly lady you need to destroy the first 10 turret guns you see then you need to flick a switch on the 2nd floor behind a turret gun on the ground and after that you need to go out of the hanger and destroy 3 fuel barrels, one next to each wheel of the plane!
Here's a strat:
Start off by running up to the auto gun on your right, grab that soviet. Fire a grenade. It might take you a few tries to get the learning curve on that, but once you get that going, fire one to the other side right under the other high up gun. Then look to the one in the middle and fire a grenade. Head past that one and get the full health if you need it, it is in the corner. Now look to the other two, fire a grenade at the door. That should end those two. Your problem here is not the door opening to keep your grenade from stopping, but the guy up top on the balcony. Watch out for him. Once you get that, run to the metal box and fire one at the gun on the ground. Then aim up at the other one and shoot it with your bullets. If you know you are going to die, fire a grenade and hope. Once that is done, round the corner and grab the body armor [hopefully] then as you are running shoot a grenade at the grounded one. Then aim up at the other two and shoot them. Then run for the switch, if you are sure you are going to die, shoot some grenades. You will die once you hit the switch, so don't worry about running back to your checkpoint. MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR BUTTONS. The last thing you want is to run up there and waste time by not knowing what to press. You only have a slit second too. Once you die, run to the newly opened door and grab the Tactical Shotgun, yep thats right, waste a few seconds to get that. Run to the two barrels together, secondary function them. Run in a rounded fashion too, there are auto guns out here. Now, do the weapon reload trick [switch weapon then switch right back]. Now round your way to the next one and unload.

Yo AB-109, thanks for the help for those 2 stages. In "Can't Please Everyone" I ignited all the Undead Preists on fire and kept them imprisoned in the tiolet/shower area to score an impresive 2:00.5 secs!
Now I have 3 more stages bothering me;
"Night Shift" - My score is 48. Where is the best spot to stay?
"Big Top Blowout" - 42. How do you evade the homing rockets?
and "Rocket Man" - 1:16.7. All these are the psycho rocket stages and I keep geting blown up...........
TimeSplittersDude
06-10-2003, 05:28 PM
you dodge homing missles by running behind a wall is the easiest way!
RedXevious
06-10-2003, 09:31 PM
GST_10%, here are some strats!
"Night Shift"
I had alot of trouble on this one too! The best place to be is on the small balcony thing next to the room with the Homing Launcher. You can see the whole level area from here, so blasting those bots shouldn't be too hard. And you will also be next to the room with the Homing Launcher in it which is good since alot of bots spawn there making it easy for you to just back-up in to the room to kill everyone there and pick up the homing launcher. The homing launcher is very important cause' it makes it mush easier to blast the bots on the other side of the arena from the little balcony. Basiclly, you should be at 25 frags at 2:30 seconds. It's ok if you are 1 or 2 frags behind. You can make up for those later. But if you are any more behind 22 frags at 2:30, then restart cause' chances are, you probably won't make it to 50.
"Big top blowout"
Not too hard this one! You can't dodge the homing rockets... :( Well, actually you can, but it won't do you much good cause' the rockets will just circle around you and eventually kill you. The best strat for this stage is to just kill them before they get a chance to even fire! This worked well for me. Very quickly hop from one tent to another trying to kill everone in one shot. (the rocket hits their body, not the ground next to them.) And you will be getting alot of kills. If you die, that's not a problem, since there are alot of ememies in this level, no matter where you respawn, there are bound to be some nearby. The best place to be is the biggest tent (the one in Sergio's Last Stand and Monkey Meyhem) since most of the time, alot of bots will be here.
"Rocket Man"
AB-109 gave me a good strat for this level a short time ago. You know those little alcove like things you see outside the walls? These are the best place to be on Rocket Man! Stand in one of them and aim your launcher on the ground outside of the alcove. Now, whenever you see a bot, fire! Keep firing and don't stop! This is the key to getting well under a minute (the plat time is only 1:05 though). You may die once (from a stray homing rocket or something.) This is ok. When you respawn, run to the nearest alcove and start fragging again! But, if you die a second time, then you should probably restart unless you are like a couple of frags away from winning. I found that the best alcove is the one directly opposite the big red "Cannon" sign (Nice product placement there in TS2!) since there arn't any walkways or windows that ememies can shoot from opposite it.
Well, hope all that helps! (Took me a while to type it... ) If you have any more problems, just let me know! I'll be glad to help you out!
See you later!

Great advice Red :D
Just remember that you MUST get a homo rocket in nightshift otherwise your kinda screwed unless your really good at aiming and on big top blowout dont worry too much about dodging homo rockets fired at you (run around a corner or run towards a wall when you see the rocket near you cos it'll try to circle around you and hit the wall. You might get some damage but better than dying plus if you have the speed powerup you can run faster than a rocket and get around a corner alot faster) just make sure you get as many kills as pos before you die and if you do die then just find more enemies and keep going, if you can kill an enemy but it'll kill you aswell (thier too close or whatever) then just take the shot. One last thing, dont stay outside for too long cos all the bots hang out inside the tents (best ones are the big ring one and the one with the trailers cos you can keep gettin more ammo and health etc in them both. merrygo round is another good one).

Ok, here are some more strats!
Hangar Hat's Off - Plat time: 1:15:0
Woah... It's been a while since I last played this level... Let me see if I remember how to do it. There isn't any Minigun here like in Top Shot, so you're going to have to make do with the other avalible weapons. I can't really remember all the weapons on the stage, I think Soviet, Tactical 12, and Rocket Launcher, and some others, right? Well, when I did it, I remember I used the Soviet alot, and ran around the place like a mad man killing everything in my path! It al comes down to how many emeies your team mates kill whilst your off killing others. I remember, it was one of my team mates that actually did the last kill, not me. You won't be able to get that many kills by yourself. So, it really depends on your mates. Which means, keep playing until you get lucky and all your team mates do really well! Im sorry I can't provide a better strat... It's been a really REALLY long time since I last played. Check out GameFAQs or something for some better help!
Adios Amigoes! - Plat time: 40 secs
A good strat on this level is to only use the Double Lugar's and the Plasma AutoRifle's granades. I recently watched MostFrantic's vid for Adios Amigoes! and he did the whole level using ONLY the double Lugar's! Just stay in the open outside area as much as you can. Alot of bots spawn here, and most likely, the ones that spawn inside, will end up coming to the outside area pretty quick. If you happen to come accross a AutoRifle, you could use the granades, but I don't suggest using it since they take a while to explode. Mabey you should check out MostFrantic's vid... It helped me alot!
"and that Vampire Match stage with the Chassis Bot..." lol! :D
You mean "Scrap Metal" - Plat time: 1:05.0
Now, the BIGGEST mistake you could make is to actually use the Homing Launcher... Whatever you do, DON'T USE THE HOMING LAUNCHER!!! It is a waste of time here... When you shoot a rocket, most of the time it misses him, and just kinda circles around him which is sooo annoying, and a waste of valuable time! Now, you only have a little over a minute to get 10 frags, which means you must be getting a kill every 6.5 seconds! Whcih means, as soon as he respwans, you must kill him! So, what weapon do you use? An unlikly choise, but perfect for this level... The Lasergun!! Two slightly charged shots are enough to kill him. And, if you pick up the max damage power-up, then you can kill him in one shot only! Now, most of the time, you won't have enough time to pick up the max damage power-up. Which brings me to your starting spawn point. Now, the best thing I could tell you is you should keep restarting untill you spawn under the stairs inside the building. This is the best spawn point, cause' as soon as you run outside, there he is, running past the open doorway! You can quickly kill him in two shots, and then really quickly run and pick up the max damage power-up to your left. Then as soon as he respawns, kill him with one shot. And keep killing him as soon as he spawns. This is easy since even if you are standing a LOOOOONG way away from him after he respawns, you can still kill him very fast thanks to the lasergun's great accuracy! After the max damage wears off, It'll take you two shots to kill him. Remember that. Oh, and mone more thing, if he ever respawns right at the back of the long hall unstairs in the building, then you should restart cause it takes him such a long to get back outside again, you will lose to much time. Hopefully, you will be able to kill him 10 times without him spawning there once. Remember, the best respawn point, is the one UNDER the stairs in the building.
And fianally, Dam Bursters - Plat score: 9300
If you look above, you will see I already provided help for this level before in an early post, so I will re-post it here again for you!
Now, to get a plat on Dam Bursters, you need to get 9300 points or more. Which basicly means near to the end, you should be getting combos all the way up to 220, 230, 240 points, etc. Getting lots of combos above 200 points is essential to getting the plat. You should be using the Autogun's alternate fire button so that bullets will be fired instantly, without the "spin-up" delay. And remember, if a monkey hits the dam wall, it deducts 30 points. So, try not to let too many hit the wall. Keep going untill you get 9300! Try to get as many combos as you can, and you will do just fine!
Hope all this helps! Tell me if you need anything else! See you later!

I also did Adios Amigos usin only lugars cos they are est for this level! I actually found it better to stand inside instead of out (pretend your outside facing the back of the outside bit (with the halth) go into the door to you right and then turn right until you can see the place with the vases and plasma gun insfront of you and just hang around hear using your radar to know where everyone is and shoot them as they come near by and theres almost a 100% chance that they'll always be someone pretty damn close to you and you can also stick your head out to the main open bit to shoot someone from far away).
On hanger's hats off I decided to use only plasma grenades (for asmuch as I can) and all I did was stay outside under the plane (moving around of cors) and whenever I saw someone they where usually fighting someone else so I just run upto them and stick a plasma grenade and run off to find someone else while they die/run away and take someone out when they die.
On the vamp one remember to keep your laser gun toped up and after each kill head for the middleish of the level (not that metal disc bit with the homo rockets cos yo have to remember the inside of the level, so around where you get the laser gun outside the door) which will hopefully put you roughly the same distance no matter where he spawns and keep your gun charging cos he might spawn right next to you and your not really in danger of runnin out of ammo (somethin like 5 or 6 laser guns around that level) and remember to shoot as you run towards him cos you've got a good aim and can hit him from the otherside of the level! If he happens to appear inside the level dont wait for him to come out instead go inside after him cos its alot quicker.
Good luck ^_^

AB, I'd be more than happy to help! :D
Now, first off, it's gonna take you about 20 tries to get it right, since most of the time, you will get seen by a camera at some point. It all comes down to the 2nd and 3rd cameras. Now, the strat here has always been to run around them, rather then under them, since they pass each other making it impossible to not get detected whilst you're inbetween them. This is not correct. It *IS* possible to run under (not behind) the 2nd camera, then quickly run left to make it under the 3rd camera without being spoted. THERE IS SUCH A FINE LINE HERE, meaning 9 out of 10 times, you will get spoted. So, from where you start, run froward, under the first camera, then strafe just a little to the right so you can run under the second camera. Now is the hard part. Strafe to the left to make it under the third camera which is very VERY hard since the second camera will be moving up behind you. Basically, you have to slip between the view of the second and third cameras, to make it under the third. This is almost impossible... But it can be done. As I said before, there is such a fine line you can safely walk on, and 9 out of 10 times, you will be seen. It is hard and takes alot of practice, but you can do it. After you do that, the rest of the level isn't that hard. After you get under the third camera, turn right, and start heading towards the corner (don't get seen by the next camera above you) and after you turn the corner, guess what's waiting for you on the other side? The police ship! But don't worry... As you allready know, it doesn't matter wheather it sees you or not, it won't deduct any Stealth Point off you meter. But there is one problem. After you turn the corner, and it sees you, it will start to fire at you! It will be able to kill you in one shot! Don't run around it!! You have got to stay to the right wall, and run under it. This is where luck comes in. 50% of the time, all it's shots will miss. And the other 50% of the time, it will end up killing you! But whatever you do, keep runing, and stay to the right wall as you run!!! If you are lucky and get past the ship, keep staying to the right wall, or you will be seen by another camera behind you. Now it's just a simple run to the finish! Don't get seen by the camera above the finish, and the stage will be complete! You should have a time of 16.3, 16.2, 16.1 or the wonderful 16.0! Again, it all comes down to how you did the stage. There are two points... The 2nd and 3rd cameras that are very hard to get between without being seen, and the corner with the police ship that will most of the time kill you when you go around the corner. But, if you do thses two areas correctly (it'll take you alot of tries) then you will get 16.0! You may be asking "why hasn't anyone gotten 15.9 yet??" well, if you are just a very little bit ahead when you get past the police ship, then the camera behind you will spot you. This has happened to me many times. So that's why the best time you can get on this level is 16.0. I hope all this helps! If you have any more problems, please let me know!
Now, as for Simian Shootout, I stand just infront of the fountain... As soon as you see a monkey, point your shotgun in that direction and start to follow it in the direction it's going, then fire. Most if the time this works since the auto-lock will point the gun to the monkey. The best way to get a good score is the finnal group of monkeys... I remember racking up combos until it got to around 500pts! That\s is the key to getting a high score. btw, if a monkey shoots out from where the bell is... Take a few steps backwards following it, aim up, and let the auto-lock do the rest, and fire! Hope this helps!
My last 6 platinums? Hmm... If I remember correctly, they were:
Top Shot
Rocket Man
Fight off the living dead
Night Shift
Big Top Blowout
That makes 5... I can't remember the ones before that.
See you later guys!

Speaking of "Siniman Shootout", what is the highest score possible? I hate the Tatical Gauge and I found this stage difficult. When I play it now, I only just get Silver. I managed on outlier of 2880 (Is that at least half your score Mr Xevious?).
Also, what is the HPS (Highest Possible Score) for the 3 challanges in "Behead the Undead"?
16.0 secs in "Escape from Neo Tokyo"!!!!!! WOW, I thought my 20.0 secs score was great. I've tried improving platnium times for a few stages and one I fell slightly proud of is "Can't Please Everyone" with 2:00.5 secs (You beat that haven't ya)
Apart from "Fight of the Living Dead" in your last 5 plats, Mr Xevious, are also ones left for me too.

I don't know what the max is for Simian Shootout but I have 7870 points and the wr is 8565 points so that is something to shoot for.
For the zombie challenges there isn't a technical max I believe. For reference, the current wr for Fight off the Living Dead is about 1.6 million points.
16.0 isn't that hard once you know the best route but that doesn't mean 15.9 or lower is possible since the penultimate camera always spot you if you go faster than 16.0 pace.
2:00:5 on CPE... is an average time (the wr is 1:45.3 for NTSC, 1:45.4 for PAL). I have a crappy 1:55.5 myself :(

Yeah, and I thought my score of 4115 on Simian Shootout was good...
I heard someone else say once that the max for Simian Shootout is somewhere around 9000 or something (If you shoot the MAX ammout of monkeys possible).
As I said before, you have to follow the monkeys in the direction they are going. For example, if a monkey shoots out from the left, heading right, then start running right with it, whilst aiming up at it. Then fire. And if a monkey shoots out from where the bell is, then start walking backwards whilst aiming up at it. Then fire. The auto aim should help a bit. The end group of monkeys are SOOOOO important if you're trying to get a high score, since that's the time you can get combos up to 500.
By the way, just in case you didn't already know, you can check out a list of all the TimeSplitters 2 world high scores at www.NGC-Elites.net

i need help on the normal version. for some stupid reason i cant find out how to get to the ufo base. Can anybody help?

The UFO base in Return To Planet X isn't that hard to find... After you have shot down all the UFOs with the big laser cannon thingys, go back the way you came, all the way back to where that fight took place between the two sides of the aliens, on top of those big ground bay doors. (next to the little alcove that took you to the cannons) Now, (standing in the little alcove) look forward to the path that goes stright, and follow it till you see a (now open) doorway on the left wall, with two aliens standing next to it. (One on either side) Shoot 'em and go through the doorway, and continue following the path and you will be at the UFO base! Objective complete! Now just keep on walking till you get under the big ground bay doors that the fight took place on. They will open up revieling TONS of aliens that will try to shoot you. Ignore them and very quickly run left into the teleporter. You'll apear in another spaceship similar to the one you were in after you went in the teleporter under the crashed UFO earlier in the stage. In this one, find the crystal (it's in one of the side rooms) then quickly run into the portal before the Scrouge Splitter kills you! Level complete!
If you need anything else, just let me know!

This should be a sticky topic... It keeps slowly moving it's way to the bottom until someone puts a post in it.
If it's sticky, everyone will be able to post their questions about TS2 here without it moving down. I just want to try and help people.
Why isn't it sticky yet, mods? :confused

True, the limit is 100 posts, give or take a few. I'll lock this one and stick a link to "part two" when the time comes.

Will this thread still be viewable after reaches 100? I need to constantly refer back several posts to catch up on whats going on. I've just got 0:16.0 in Neo Tokyo yesterday.
I reckon this thread is more successful than the other one as it's more proffessional and helps me out more.

I must admit that this thread is hugely useful- although I only ever used it for the damb bursters level... it still provides the oppertunities for pro-wanabies (like me) to compare strategies...

Yes, it will. I'll be around until it's so covered in cobwebs that noone recongises it! :p
And the day when noone cares about TS2 ... Well, I guess we'll all be out of a job.
Here's to "part 2" *raises coffee cup as a salute to a great community. Darn, it's empty... Tip-toes down the hall in a stealthy, feline manner, using whiskers as a radar. Searching for the blue dot that is the coffee pot. She sees it, she stalks her quarry... pounces... and trots off, victorious, with a mug of freshly brewed French Roast*

Thanks everyone! I couldn't have done it without you guys, especially you AB-109! :D
R10-9 Beta, you wanted help with Bags of Fun, right? (That is the only CTB stage on the Ice Station level)
I posted this before, so I'll repost it again here for everyone! :D
<i>Originaly posted by RedXevious</i>
<hr>
Look, i couldn't even get SILVER on "Bags of fun" until i figured out the serect.... now i was able to get 12 bags better on it! (Platinum score is 10 bags better) Ok, here it is. (it's a little hard to explain) If you look around a bit, you will notice two speed power-ups. One to the far right of the opponents bag, and one to the far left (both are on the the snow) also, you will notice a Shield not too far away from the speed power-up on the left, and a shrink power-up not to far away from the speed power-up on the right. So, on the far right side, there's a speed and shrink power up, and on the far left side, you have a Shield and a speed power-up. LEARN WHERE THESE TWO SETS ARE! EXPLORE A BIT... The trick is to alternate between these two sets. For example, when you start, run off to the far right of the opponents bag, (staying on the snow) and pick up the shrink power-up then the speed power-up, now run for your opponents bag! don't stop running! since you have the shink power-up, your almost invincible, nearly ALL of the opponents shots will miss! after you get their bag you MAY get a sign that says "The enemy has stolen your bag!". Whenever you get this sign, use your Rocket Launcher to kill the bag carrier on your way back to your own bag base! (shoot the ground next to him) You should have picked up the Rocket Launcher when you started (it's in the second floor of the building) So make sure you always pick it up whenever you start the stage! Don't stop running! (don't forget to pick up the bag after they drop it) Anyway, after you score, this time, go for the set on the LEFT! (the shield and the speed power-up) and do the same as above (grab the opponents bag and run back, killing the ememy bag carrier on the way if they stole your bag from your base whilst you were getting their's) Then after you score, go for the set on the RIGHT (the speed and the shrink power-up) will have allready respawned, so you can pick them up again! Then go for the opoonents bag again! Continue like this (alternating between the two sets for each bag) and what ever you do, DON'T LET YOUR OPPONENT SCORE! Don't be scared of dieing if you have the "shrink and speed" set! (since all of your opponents shots will miss) Be EXTRA carefull when your trying to get the bag with the "speed and shield" set, cause' all of you opponents shots WILL hit you.... try to strafe from left to right to avoid gun fire. REMEMBER, when your opponent get's your bag, you MUST kill them whilst your on your way back with thier bag. (as I said before, use the Rocket Launcher) And that's it! Continue this process for 7 MINUTES! and mabey, you WILL get a Platinum too!
Hope all this helps, remember the PIE rule, "Practice" "Investigate" and "Execute!" and you will do just fine! :D

That should be able to help you (seeing how it helped everyone else that read it!)

i'm stuck on atomsmasher (hard). with the 3rd bomb, do i need to hold down the r2 button (ps2 controller) or just press it to lift the bomb off the conveyor belt with the magnet? also, does the amount time given for each subsequent bomb always stay the same, or does it change according to how quickly the previous bombs were defused? any advice on how to get to and defuse the 3rd bomb? there just isn't enough time!!!!!!!!
RedXevious
06-29-2003, 10:37 AM
Yes, you have to HOLD the "R2" button to pick up the bomb with the magnet. You may be having some trouble cause' you're not doing it right. You have to MOVE the magnet above the bomb then keep moving it so it stays above the bomb as the bomb moves left and right WHILST holding down the "R2" button. It may take a short time, but the bomb will slowly move and will zoom up and stick to the magnet. After that, just move the magnet and bomb over above the "bomb pit" as I like to call it, and tap the "R2" button again to release it and destroy it!
The ammount of time you have for each bomb DOES NOT stay the same. The faster you did the last bomb, the more time you will have for the next one. You gain a certain ammount of time after you defuse each one depending on the difficulty. (You like gain 2 minutes after each bomb on Easy, one and a half minutes on Normal, and 1 minute on Hard) So, basically, the faster you defused the last bomb, the more time you will will have for the next!
Hope this helps!

I remember that cursed bomb! A first time-every time way to pick up the bomb is to follow the pace the bomb moves (faster in hard) before you pick it up, the best time would be when it's heading in the direction of the "bomb pit".
