Just for safekeeping, all you taffers that submitted a pic are in one of my webshots albums on the Internet. You can download them or put your mug on a mug. LOL!!!
Now that we must all watch our grammar, yes, I realize that was a run on sentence. Hehehehehe!!:D

Erm ... who exactly gave them permission to do that?

It isn't them but me. I put the album there for safe keeping. Before Apache took over the person who was doing it had to stop and no one offered at first. Brokenarts was worried about losing the photos so I made an album and put them on webshots. It is free webspace and anyone can use it. I just updated it and consider it a back up to the one Howie is keeping. You can have your picture put on a mug or keyring etc. but that will cost you. As long as webshots is up and running it's a good spot to store the pics. If you want you can download their free album and all the pics too. The album keeps them compressed and you can choose any pic in the album for your computer wallpaper. They have some beautiful scenery or cars or a swimsuit collection. It is all free unless you want to buy a pic and frame it or get a mug with you mug. I have been with them for years and have been keeping albums in the community section. This way all my family can look too and no download problems. Phew!!

Hi Hawklette
I think Zaccheus' point was that the Taffer's Album photos were submitted for a particular purpose (i.e. use in the Taffer's Album), and that implicitly, permission was given for them to be used in that context, but that doesn't imply that they can be used in other contexts. I think we all appreciate your efforts to build a backup of the album piccies, and recognise that it's a really valuable service. I'm quite happy for my image to be wherever, but that's a personal preference - some people are much more aware of the uses to which their image1 are put2.
Technically you probably should have the permission of the people whose photos are on that site to use them in a context other than the (semi-official) Taffer's Album, but practically the simplest solution is probably to allow anyone who does *not* want their picture to appear to contact you and ask to have it removed.
I know you were totally trying to be helpful and have the best possible intentions, and this stuff sounds heavy, but the right to choose how and where we are represented on the Net is an important right.
Warm regards,

Thanks for the input bravus. I will take anyone out if they want.
However, doesn't it make you wonder how I got the pics. If I can anyone can. I guess what I'm saying is if you don't want to be seen then don't post your pic anywhere. All I had to do to get the pic for the album was right click on it and save.
Sheezz!! everytime I try to do something I think is helpful it ends up wrong. Sorry to anyone who is offended and please let me know. It took a lot of time to save all your mugs and we were afraid they would be lost. Not even a mention or thanks from anyone when I offered. If you don't want to be seen then you should take your pic off the Taffer Album too.
Oh, I forgot, I can make the album private if you want.
Here's another thing I learned. I think tbm mentioned it but not sure. It was a while ago. Do a search, say through yahoo and use your own name or screen alias whatever. It will bring you up as a forum member and anything else you wrote perhaps a game review etc. :D

Ok, sorry, I didn't realise you had done it. I misunderstood your post.
:)
I don't mind my pic being on the taffers album because it has a certain group of people looking at it.
But a public web album has a completely different group of people looking at it.
I would appreciate it if you could take me off it, or make the album private (with a silly password like "thief") .
No hard feelings, yeah?
:)

I understand completely. I'll make it private. I only left it open in case say someone would want a pic of ricknmel on a mouse pad or gummie on a key chain. Better yet Brokenarts on your coffee mug. LOL!!
Did you try putting you name or screen name in a search. It will suprise you. :D

yeah, I search for my screen name, website, and 'the honest thief' every now and then. Good fun.
:)
EDIT:
Wow, searching for 'zaccheus', my thief site is now at #4 on google, right after this fantastic summery of my screen name's origin:
"Zaccheus was a 'wee little man' and a great sinner who repented
when Jesus honored him and loved him. His story is told in Luke 19: 1-10."
BTW, this is also a cool list of thief websites:

I just looked up my own username. Wow, it's kinda freaky. I found 4 with my true self. 4 others were "Daventry" (an European town and a town used in a computer game called Kings Quest) spelt wrong. Very freaky though!

Wow!! Zaccheus that is a cool site. I bookmarked it.
I made the album private but the only drawback is you have to mail me to get to see it. It was just for back up anyway. I have all my thief family mugs in my own private album on my computer but you know how they crash now and then. Mine has been doing it quite regularly. LOL!!
BrokenArts you would be great on a coffee mug along with quite a few others.

Hmmm. All I saw at the above link was birds and butterfies. Did the Thief album fly away?:) I for one appreciate your work to preserve it. I hope you have the pix stored away somewhere.
Nice birds and butterflies. I looked up your unknown butterfly. I think it is a "red spotted purple", a member of the admiral family.

This is the link for the first page. It's hard to see the page numbers in the corner. The one called Jeff in Alaska is my older son and Joe's Stuff is my younger son. They wanted to be able to send their pics so this made it easy. Of course I was very very very young when they were born.
