What if Raziel were to use the heart on himself? Would he return to his former vampire state or would it have no effect at all? Just a thought.

It can in Blood Omen. :p

Although we never expected the series to come as far as it has.

Realistically, I believe the HoD has only one use, however I am not sure if the ancient can extend its use by sharing a portion of it with another vampire if he/she chose.

The HoD may or may not affect Raziel. I personally feel that he is a bit past the vampire point in his existence now and willing to move forth with his destiny instead of back (coincidentally, so are the members of the CD family ;) ).

After becoming the Soul Reaver, his ties to the vampire life he used to live were severed (with the exception of his memories). He no longer had the physical needs or weaknesses of a vampire, nor do I get the impression he would want them back now that he has the power he does.

Besides, Raziel is not selfish. I don't forsee him wanting to use the HoD on himself before using it on someone who needs it. (e.g. Janos).

And being the half-twit that Raziel is, he most probably will ignore Kain's warning and go right ahead with it anyway ;)

LOL. Although there are a lot of sentiments around here (not mine) that suggest the half-twit jawless wonder didn't hear Kain's warning.

They have to justify his actions somehow, I suppose. :p ;) :D

I am wondering, what if Raziel does live through all of this? What if he achives his goal then what? I mean it's not like he can enjoy life in his current state everyone seems to fear him and the ones who don't fear him such as The Elder God and Moebius seem to just try to use him. I'm wondering what he will do if this finishes with him victorious.

I think one of us is a bit optomistic here. ;)

Raziel will be victorious, until Kain takes him out of the equation. I will have to look up the thread where I, and other forum members speculated on what will transpire during the end of SR3.

Give me a few on that.

I don't think Raz heard the warning:

"But Kain's warning was lost..."

I think that Raziel will survive for one major reason.... The entire series he speaks in past tents as though reflecting on his "unlife." He recalls that "Kain's words were lost," as he faded away into the spectral realm. So obviously, he must have already witnessed the events that would take place after the end of SR2. My guess is that the entire series of SR is nothing but Raziel's reflections on his life and he is just about to combat the "unseen player." Whether he survives this fight is anyone's guess (But for dramatic effect, I would like to see Raziel sacrfice himself for Nosgoth or, in his dying breathe, defeat the unseen player and die a hero's death).

In the words of Vonnegut, "So it goes."

interesting observation nightchyld. the daredevil movie did something like that so yeah it would make sense using past tenses that maybe he is reflecting through the first couple of SR's.

American Beauty was narrated the same way but Kevin Spacey died at the end(And in the begining of the movie he said, "...although I didn't know it yet I would be dead in two weeks.")

Out of courtesy to fellow members who haven't seen American Beauty it might be wise to use the SPOILER function.

I am sure we could've left it as:

American Beauty was narrated in the same way (or similar way) by Kevin Spacey.

EDIT: Doing my part to clean up the unnecessary crap in this forum, by removing that which I've added.

That movie is a few years old, and if you haven't seen it by now, chances are you won't. It's not like he told the end to a game or something while someone was playing. That's kinda making something out of nothing there....

On the topic of the HoD, seeing as it restores vampiric unlife by someone drinking from it, perhaps it also restores itself after it has been drunken from. So you drink from it, but its never-ending and bottomless, so it refills itself instantly. That would explain how Kain is allowed to drink from it numerous times in BO1.

Yup. I've wondered about the wording of the voice-overs too... but then again, they have to describe things that couldn't be spoken in-game...

However, that's a mighty good idea you've got there :D

I know I've mentioned this before (I've not had much response), but what about the Soul Reaver getting the ability to possess the one who weilds it. Then Raziel would not need to be completely out of the picture. It would be an interesting way to continue the story and it would make sense for the ancients to make a weapon that could choose how it was used.

Good point man, very good point.

A kind of lead up from when the Reaver gets 'aroused' in SR2... interesting. Maybe this way the Raziel in the blade would control Raziel so that he couldn't make the same 'mistakes' that his past (but present) self did.

Cool :D
