View Full Version : Lara's Birthday 2003 - Revised with fmv!

Just finished the corrected and expanded version of Lara's Birthday level...... new secrets, a working zip line, a visit to the aquarium, a weird new baddie, a surprise soundtrack (hello Larson!), and the ending fmv! Also a new door added to defeat the invisible closed door bug beyond the 5-switch room.
Had as much fun with this one as the original, since there was no way of knowing what had been added, there was the anticipation of wondering, "What else is new?"
If you want to know who was at the party........well, play it! Download here. (http://www.trle.net/AuthorListingNewLevels.htm)

It was near the bottom of the list...... I should have known it would get bumped off soon....anyway, click here (http://www.trle.net/AuthorListingLP.htm) for the author listings and look for Lilian Bobola's levels. It's a 20 meg download, so be ready to wait if you have dial-up. Ah, the joys (and speed) of cable internet!:D

Loved Lara's dress, by the way, but getting her to ride the cycle up on the truck was murder!!!!!
Fun level Boo!:D

Liked the new bad guy,
and the song on the stereo was a giggle (who made that by the way?)
Noticed there had been some (much appriciated) improvements, like the rendering working properly now, Lara talking at an audible volume, and switches to open and close all the door. I was confused as to why we can't access the trophy room anymore though, and the ending FMV wasn't expected

THE True Lara you can access the trophy room, but it's more difficult now because there is a secret in it. Push the switch behind the platform in the pool. Follow the passage though the door that opens. From the box climb over the small passage that leads to the water. Find and pull the underwater lever, which opens the door of the artifacts room.

Did anyone notice something peculiar about Winston?
When he walks around, you can see sparks on the ground, in front of and to his left. It's as if he was the undead Crusade knight dragging his sword around. Also, when you target Winston with your pistols, he will stop walking, just like the knight does. Winston doesn't kneel down and hold up his tea tray, though. The knight will kneel down and hold up his shield when Lara targets him.
Lara's Soul, do you know anything about this? Just curious.
And thank you for creating this level. It was fun!:D

Right, have just played it all through again, and made a special point of going to the pool room ;)
I have one final question however...
what, if anything are we supposed to do with the presents? Or are the just the secret subsitiutes?
P.S. The Boo, I also noticed the weirdness that is Winston ;)
Also liked the carpetting in the church (forgot to mention last time,) as well as having the kitchen door shut, and the sunglasses on the kitchen table were a nice touch
And I love that funky little number on the stereo :D

Can someone just pplleeaassseee clarify the present collecting matter.
I knw I finished the level ages ago, but it's bothering me still.
When I checked the inventory it said 'USE' underneath them, but what am I supposed to use them to do? ..hurl them at Winston so he'll stop walking into me?! :p
I assumed they were like secret substitues?

I don't know what the presents were for - maybe to be opened at a later time... :D
Here are a couple screenshots - dropping from the Zip Line in her birthday suit - er, skirt,

and, of course, the first thing you'd want to do with a Motorcycle on the premises is to ride it into the shower stall...
