Multiple choice allowed.

Yeah, what is it? I always wanted to know. I have only one friend that plays Thief, but I do not know other people who play (in the real life i mean) ;) .

So, what is it?

Me, a simple student who likes sports and computers and I play Thief in my free time over the weekend (Iīve been inactive for more than two years, but I will have T2 in a couple of weeks  )

I'd vote but I don't see one for "All of thee above".

It is multiple choice, howie.

Hi Pipa2,

I work in accounting. I love playing on my computer and I guess I would consider it a hobby. My computer and I have a serious, long term relationship. We get along most of the time but I think we may have to go into counseling if it crashes on start up anymore. :p

I play some form of Thief every day, whether it is a Fan Mission or Thievery. :)

As far as the poll is concerned; there are quite a few females on the forum (like me) and the last poll option about 'I just like parties, chicks and Thief!!!' can't be marked because of the whole 'chicks' thing. *sigh*

I second Shadow Creepr's comment about the "I just like parties, chicks and Thief!!!" option.

Mark me down for a PC enthusiast/student.

I would have used option 5 too, but I only like LAN parties. :p

Another student here, cell biology. Playing computer games is one of my hobbies, and so far the Thief series has been my absolute favorite.

I would have clicked on the last option too, but as Shadow Creepr pointed out, the chicks part of it doesn't work for (most) females.

(EDIT: I really do need some more sleep... Edited for clarity.)

The taffers album and the Shifting through the decades pretty much covers it. For my situation, as well as a few other taffers.

I will say that your "poll" is poorly set up.

As an Example:

1. Highschool or under
2. College student
3. Average salaried employee
4. Business owner/operator
5. Educated professional

This would be more accurate in broad strokes. The construction of the poll readily indicates your youth and inexperience with the world at large. :D

A simple answer would be a person who has access to a computer. LOL

I'm a worker who enjoys indoor stuff and spends way too much time on the computer. I like one particular 'chick' very much indeed, though I think I'd be in deep trouble if I called her that. ;)

Pipa2, I'm gonna take up theBlackman's suggestions for questions and try to make a more precise poll - I still voted on yours, and I hope lots of people will do likewise (more need to, 'cos at the moment the students are beating the workers, and where does that leave the economy!), but I thought I'd give it a try. Hope that doesn't upset you... and thanks for the idea, it's interesting to read about people.

Me loves to party!! and the chicks, of course. But give me and Gidget (my puter) a room with jammin music or James Bond movies in the background (and Thief, of course) and I'm happy.:)

Ah the dreaded "C" word emerges again. I thought I plucked out all those baby chicken feathers littlek feels her skin for pin feathers.

Have to agree with tBM, need more options that reflect the mature aspect of this forum and the game. The game takes patience and maturity fosters patience.

:D

Yeah, maybe thatīs true. :D

However, what I just wanted to know was if a Thief player was either a worker or a student and then what were his/her interests, I mean indoor or outdoor activities.

At first I wanted to put several options just as: "I like music" "I like programming" "I like sports" etc. But then I remembered I could only put 5 options, so I had to divide into sports and outdoor and computers and indoor. At least that gives us an idea of how the Thief player is.

And please donīt keep into account the last option when criticizing me as an "inmature nuts", I just made that one to have some fun, especially when making the girls of the forum feel a little bit angry.... :p

Well I'm sure we "older" folks understood you were trying to make a funny with the last...but you were being selective as to your responses for that question obviously :) I'm very much a fem so I opted for the "I like computers, etc." answer. Which is very much a large part of my life since I'm retired and do have my garden of sorts (grow roses mostly that gives me some outdoor pleasures as well). I've been playing Thief for a few years now although I actually started with T2 when it was released. Since then I'm very much of a die hard fan and many FM's under my belt as well although others have played many many more. There is much there to be enjoyed and very well made too! So have fun and Good Hunting!

EDIT: LOL, I agree with SC..not angry in the least...just limited responses available for the "rest" of us :D

Pipa2,

I don't believe any of us girls are 'angry' at you. Not at all. I mearly pointed out that I couldn't mark an option for 'I like parties, chicks, and Thief.' because the word chicks was in there and I am...well...a chick. There would need to be a second option that read 'I like parties, really-hot-dudes-that-think-I-am-so-great-that-they-want-to-ask-me-out-on-a-date-right-now, and Thief!!!'. ;)

I think the general consensus is that the the poll was too specific to a certain age group and gender. You had the right idea, it just needed to be broadened to appeal to a wider group of taffers. :D

I did vote too BTW, but I had to pick the 'computers and indoor activites' one.

I see no reason to be. I call myself a chick and my girlfriends 'chicks', if somebody doesn't like it then I won't do it to them - but it doesn't bother me. Better than other words I have heard before that truly offend me. And what's this thing about maturity? Need everyone be of the same demeanor? I think it livens things up when different people and age groups communicate. Some people (like me) are at a different emotional (or physical) level than others, why hold it against them? We are all young once, eh?

Cheerio!;)

No flame intended in the remarks I made to Pipa2, just an observation.

As far as"...We are all young once..." I plan to be "young" until well after I'm buried. :D

Sound outlook Blackman....I believe it's all in the living and how you do it....I'd rather be a chick than a burd....thirs a tidy burd then...*blah..glasgie comeons....What is age when you still feel like ten years younger than you are?

What makes a thief player? I was a closet player....finding myself at the pc in the small dark hours, relishing the peace, the thrill and the pure pleasure of it all. The younger set scorned my thief prowess, were outright embarrassed even, epecially if others of thier like were about. I was forced to play in secret....oh and there is a poll to this? BBL.....i even know the lingo LOL...L8R

I think a Thief player is of a different breed all together, we want more, more out of life, and find that in Thief. It crosses all boundaries in age, culture, time and space, well, maybe not quite that far fetched. :p :D

For those that want more, Thief remains in the blood stream, its a known proven fact, case studies have been done, subliminal suggestions, flashes across our screen, we can't escape it. We get more in the long run anyway. Why fight it. Its always there.

Aye ...you know when you have it bad when you start circle-strafing..keeping to shadows and imagining a good black jack to someone's noddle would keep things in order.....that and well....
Even tho its been awhile since i've played....t3 rollon

I once had a er....dreamaboutgarrett!?! It was......argh.

Is that a bad thing?

Yeah. I guess you could say that patience is a foster child... :D

And BTW, I picked 3 of the selections.

Absodulutely,

I try to walk quietly and hide in shadows quite a bit. No one sees me....I think  I also have this scarf that is made to be a hood, too. It looks very thiefy when I wear it. And more than once I have imagined blackjacking someone. I call people taffer, but they don't get it. What's wrong with our world? ;)
