Rent first to see if it's worth the headaches of repeated delays, and if you like, then buy.

No, just download it, that way you can cheat EIDOS out of money, feel like human filth and loose all your friends. From there it'll be psychiatrist to psychiatrist, drink to drink until you realise your life has no meaning anymore... all because you didn't buy that one great game.
Now you're on a bridge overlooking a deep dark black water, a bottle of whiskey in hand wrapped in a brown paper bag. The moon even refuses to shine it's light on your soiled face. You notice now much your brown homeless rags smell like death, and without even saying good-bye you jump off.
Buy the game, for not doing so is not worth risking this fate.
*nothing personal :D*

Cheat EIDOS out of money? Wrong. Losses are always passed on to the customer somehow, and the ones who'll be cheated are those honest ones who did buy it.

The above also applies if you don't finish the entire game in a timely manner, purchase it in a timely manner, even look at Lara's butt, die too many times, screw up in a spectacular manner and have to restart the game at the begining when you were on the last level, or if you cheat. :p :p

I always play the demo first. But .... Oh yeah .... almost forgot.

Depends with me. IF the demo actually comes out first, like in OPM or elsewhere, then I'll try it. If it comes out after the game's release, then I'll rent it instead. I am not infinitely rich, and won't spend $50 on every hyped POS (lesson learned from Devil May Cry 2), so I want to make sure I actually get a good game that's worth buying before I buy it.
