Just wondering if anyone besides me have started to lose interest in this game, its not that the game dosen't look fun, I just don't care when it comes out. We don't know when to expect it so its like they're not even making it and its all just a dream. Anyone else feel kinda like this?

I know what you mean about it seeming like Core's not even making it. I wonder why it keeps getting pushed back further and further.
I just have to say, AoD had better be spectacular when it's released, to have made us wait this long..........

My interest level has dropped 50%. I just don't care when or if they release it anymore. I have better things to do then spend my days anxiously awaiting its release.

Hmmmm...I was sooo looking forward to AOD coming out last November.
Then, euuugh, it double slipped - you slipped and then you slipped again :D
Now, I am not fussed anymore. I am not setting myself up for another disappointment.
To be honest, I doubt I'll even buy it on release day.
I'll probably wait until I have some free time in the summer (if it is out by then).
Still, I am very much looking forward to playing the game and I am sure that the extra time will benefit the product.

I agree. I found out in January 2002 that it was scefuled to be released in November and I can't even explain how thrilled I was. Then, the date came and went, then February, now April (which I doubt too). I am also not compalining about the release date, just the fact that Core anounced this so long ago and 6 months have now passed the original date. I know they are fixing the game to perfection, but 6 months? Obviously they jumped the gun a little on that orignal date and they should have held their horses. 6 months is more than just minor adjustments being made.
I don't care when it comes out now. I will still buy and play it, but the thrill of TR is not there anymore. And I too am not in a rush to buy it. i will buy it when I see it, but no rush to get it.

I have absolutely lost interest. My guess is that this game will completely suck when it's released. The graphics are cool now, but by the time it's ready, it won't exactly be the best game to hit the planet. Sure, I'll play it. I just don't think it will be very good at all. The only company that can pull this nonsense is Blizzard. They promised Warcraft III in 1999... low and behold in 2002 they came out with one awesome game. I seriously doubt Tomb Raider could ever pull this off. Furthermore, I'm looking forward to the Warcraft III expansion and Thief III more than I am Tomb Raider:AOD at this point.

Do you think there is such a thing as over doing it? I mean, working on it so much that it actually does suck instead. Although, from the sounds of it. By all of us complaining and what not, we are now all really expecting an awesome game since they spent so much time working on it. Anything less will be a huge dissapointment. We may have worked ourselves up so much at this point that no matter what, the game won't be what we expect.

cant agree with you more ms91294. With all these delays, they must make the game into a completely new experience. Otherwise, it will be a disappointment(at least to fans of the TR games).

Nomatter what you expect from anything, too much is always a dissapointment! If you are not interested in AOD anymore then why are you posting in this forum?
I am still looking forward to this game!

Why post, so we can tell each other what we think. It's not like I see you people and can physically talk to you. Oh and expectation, I expected the world from Metal Gear olid 2 and guess what I got.......One of the best looking games ever released on the PS2.

By the time MGS2 came out, I only remember hearing how bad Raiden was and how he made the game "suck", I guess opinions do change...when suitable mostly. And I couldn't agree more with Piega, if you lost interest just leave the forums, because if that is the case you will find no need to talk about a game that does not interest you. Or simply do like all the others that only appeared here when the previous release date was meeting its end, and promptly vanished when the game was rescheduled. I have a theory about why most of us visit this forum on an everyday basis: we are the fans that made Tomb Raider what it is today. And this thread is but one more expressing of our frustration about the game, but still your arguments do not convince me because I know that when the game does come out, you'll be as excited as the other.
On a side note: Graphics usually take some time to get dated...
And using the same example blizzard did deliver excellent games, but we all know that the great gaming experience they delivered took its toll on the graphics...

Not everybody is saying they don't want to play the game, we are just sick of delays and aren't going to throw fits anymore because of more delays. Most people waiting for the game are trying to preoccupy themselves with either games or movies( I'm looking forward to the game Clock Tower 3 at this point right now while waiting for TR:AOD). I know we all hope and pray that the game comes out soon and is better than we expect so we can all stop our complaining. Anyone agree?

I said I lost a lot of interest not completely. And leave the forums? hmmmm lets see, I lose interest in AOD so I should leave everything else. That's brilliant:rolleyes: Oh and believe what you will but I won't be excited, more like it's about time. Oh and by the way how are you to discuss loss of interest if you have noone to discuss it with? But I don't care cause this is my last post in this thread.

How can you be so peppy?!? lol :D
Personally, all this waiting is taking the excitement out of this. I remember being pretty excited in November, when all of us still thought it was coming out. Now, it's just like, eh. If it comes out, it comes out. No big deal now. I'm starting to get the feeling also, that when it does come out, it's not going to be worth (is it 3 delays now?) all of the delays.
BTW, has anyone else noticed that the AoD forum is just 4 new threads away from having a total of 666?!?! lol Woooo! Scary! :p :D

Me? I'm still excited, I don't care if they wait till x-mas! I'ts the anticipation of KNOWING that there is going to be a new game! I have never thought to EXPECT the game to blow me away with perfect graphics etc.. Yet, each game has had some small improvements, and it was like getting a treat each time. What happens when you get that perfect game? There wouldn't be anymore. And that my friends would surely be a sad day. When you think "It better be worth the wait." Hasn't it always been? I don't want them to give it to me all at once because there would be nothing to look forward to. Me? I just want them to continue with the little treats.:p (scratch, scratch)

Hmmm. Don't know about the car, but isn't Lara's shadow in the wrong place because of the car headlights? Shouldn't it be on her right hand side rather than in front of her?

Police is backwards like on an ambulance, right?
His_Zutusliness
02-11-2003, 02:26 PM
Well, I noticed it's backwards too, kinda normal I guess...
One might start saying it looks bad, but personally I think it looks awesome.
That shadow is a bit off yeah.
And on topic: I am still excited to play this game, no matter how long it'll be delayed. If it turns out less good than I had expected, I won't be disappointed though.

I cant wait to play the game you must know it going to be awesome. Come on now look at their first game and think about how cool you thought it was and how it revolutionized the gaming industry and then tell me you are not happy anymore with it. They are probably delaying the game so they can tweak it as much as they can before we get hold of it. It has to be awesome to pleas this group not everyone but some. Be thankful a game you know your going to like is coming out at all. When AOD comes out I am almost positive that some people will change their mines especially if you happen to be at Wal-Mart and they are displaying it on the screen when your in the games section. Don’t give up on what you came here for in the first place. Everyone take a deep breath and relax. :p

Police is written in reflected face.
And what Susan noticed is also true. But you dont know if there is a lightpoint behind here, maybe that causes the main shadow.
But one thing is for sure, Police is written in reflected face.
And look, behind the policeman is something written NOT in reflected face. So it can't be caused by editing with a computer or by scanning or whatever. It's an error in the game.
I reflected the image on my computer and then you saw it was written perfectly. But the text on the wall changed then.
Piega

In some countries it is normal that the text is mirrored on the car so the driver in front of the police car can read it in his mirror

Maybe...I guess we'll know for sure when we get the game - I'll be looking out for this spot now! I think this is a great idea of yours though, spot the "wrong" thing on the pictures. Got any more? Although Piega and others are right, it's quite common to have the reverse writing on the front of police cars. :)

it's so here in Italy (I was writing this then I saw Piega already wrote this).
His happens even with the "ambulance" van for hospitals and the firemen one.
The delay was a great delusion. I think this is the reason of the lost of interest.
But if you want to know when we will see on the TV for the first time an advertisement of TRAOD coming soon it will be a great moment. Can't wait for this, I imagine I will jump on my chair or my bed or my feet and starting a huge "HURRAY" :)
Then, to people next to me who will say: "hey, I am going to buy this, it looks good on this TV advertisement" I will reply: "ehy, I've been waiting for this three years more than you" LOL :D
We have to agree with this: when they will start the promotion we will forget everything :) My eyes are already shining... then when a love is lowering (LOL) think about what made you to fall in love... so, think about the first trailer of TRAOD with that lovely and ansious music... her runnning far from dogs, her jumps through fires... the writings on the trailer, her foot upon a picture with a broken glass... can't wait :)

Hasn't effected my interest one way or the other. For one thing, I'm still working on TR4&5. I'm about halfway thru TRC, 3/4 way thru TRLR. For another, I have no intention of buying it until I've played the demo or have really sound data on what the specs are and whether it will play on my PC. So I won't be getting it right away anyhow.

TLF thinks it's going to be a great game, and can't wait to play it, but she isn't really excited about it. In fact, she never really was: she's just assuming it'll be great and is patiently waiting for it to be released.
Heh, her mother is keeping an eye on the release date... every time it rolls back she breaks the news to TLF like someone's died... then TLF shrugs and gets something to eat.
(comfort food) :D
Actually, all her obsessive excitement is centered round a movie which hasn't even begun production yet... heh...

how is that an "error" in the game??? don't most police cars have reflective writing so the driver can see the proper text formation in the rearview mirror???
I'm sorry but i disagree, it's not an error in my opinion

How weird... I did lose interest for a few months, but it came back twice as strong... Maybe it's because it feels like it's about to be released (wishful thinking). Oh and all of a sudden I'm totally used to Lara's new look... Wouldn't want it any other way now. The one from TLR looks totally wack to me now. Am I alone on that one?

It's actually very interesting that someone posted this topic. I must admit at first I was getting a little tired of it, but then I had this TR adrenaline rush like a huge craving so I re-played TR Chronicles again. I loved it, and am back in the spirit.
I think we all are in the same boat. We aren't really not into it anymore, we just were very excited about it, but have to wait, so we feel as if we should just ignore it so we won't be disappointed.
I'm 100% sure that AOD will be a fantastic game. Look at all the new developments that are into it. I think that Core estimated how long it would take them to make the game, but since it is so different, they perhaps *under*estimated.
I am still highly looking forward to it, but it's ok to put it on 'hold' right now since school is overly busy anyway. Gives me something to look forward to for summer vacation. :)
Keep up the great work Core! You'll get it out when it's ready!

Scenerio 1) Pop the AOD CD into your drive....waits....and it doesn't work.
Scenerio 2) Pop the AOD Cd into your dive....and play until your hearts content!
Personally I would rather have #2 happen, other ppl I'm not so sure. :)

I haven't lost interest at all, I've only got more interested! The more time it takes to make the game, the better it'll be right? Sometimes when I'm making a custom level, I plan to release it soon, but I come up with some huge idea to remodel the whole level, maybe they're doing that in AOD, they spent er..... 6 months remodeling  Ok, maybe not 6 months :p But they seem to think the game will be so incredible and so advanced, and they have been kind enough to set up tombraider.com with a bunch of new screens every once in a while. We have more trailers than we need from tombraiderchronicles. There are tons of fan wallpapers and screenshots, we should be entertained lol.
They're obviously planning something huge, you'll see when it comes out. I hope nobody loses enough interest to not buy it. ;)
I guarentee there will be 20 (or more) "THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!" threads on the release date, and far off into the horizon :)

I think I'm going to start a pool about what year it will be released!
I've lost a lot of intrest. In fact that's what brought me to the forum today--to see if it would really be released in March.
Sigh!
Originally the word was that it would be released early in 1999 or 2000. I don't remember which.
At this stage, I think I'll wait for a demo to make sure it will run on my computer.
To make matters worse, last Fall I put money down on it and I've forgotten where I left the reciept.
