you've been not seeing anything from me for a certain time, so it's time to update just to say "yes, I am still working on my TR-A game" well, at least for the ones who are interested to it, sure :D

I am very happy for them, the first one comes from the NEW version of my COTW game (I remind "COTW" means Center of the World that is the SECRET location where the TechnoEgyptians Empire was set for centuries before to reveal to Human Mankind in the 2004.

All the others come from the following levels, this means part three of my game.

As TRAOD was posticipated, I "have" to be later than it, so I "have" to posticipate my date of release too... I chosed SEPTEMBER because I will have MORE time to do THINGS BETTER...

Hey Psiko,

We're all so excited that you're still working on this project.

But did I understand right that you're not gonna release it until September (of this year) ?

I don't know if we can wait that long. I'm sure I speak for most of the Techno-Egyptian fans here, when I say that we've been looking forward to the next release so much... since last year !!!

You don't have to wait until the release of AOD. I'm sure we're all going to enjoy your new levels just as much, wether they're released before or after AOD.

Once again, we all love your work... just give us more please !!!

Well, I really do not have words now... I would like to tell you "ok, I will release something.."...

but if you want to know, I wouldn't have released neither that "Rhatech" demo... The reason is just that TR-A should be played sequencially now, and I need the entire game... I would like to release a new level but it's not possible... every level now "needs" the rest of the game...

"Part three" of my TR-A game is a part made of something like 8 or 9 levels but I still need one level for the prologue... many "linked" by the theme, by certain reasons... and few levels are from previous ones... I always said: "the Cathedral level of COTW isn't ended... you'll come back.."

So, "every" level is now just a "piece" of the same body...

I need time, I am working on this really hard, believe me, I still need time... This game is getting the best thing I ever done until now in my life, I want to do things really good... I do not know how many times I will have the chance to tell this story about the TechnoEgyptians Empire, so better "to tell it now and tell it good".

I hope you'll appreciate the entire project, because it is a game with exactly a "project"...

So, please try to forgive me for the time I still need before I am ready with this :)

But I say: Take all the time you need to perfect your game.
The wait will be worth it, I'm sure.

Well, I think "posticipated" is a perfectly good word, and worthy of adding to the English language - abbreviated PTP

Definition - to postpone anticipation - so, in waiting longer, we'll appreciate the arrival more !!!

thanks guys (@junojim: lol, I love "posticipated" too and it is exactly for that reason that it exists in Italy, from the ancient italian dead language called "latin", but do not go off topic lol)

TR-chick, are you the same trchick with a picture at mprager's site for the reviewers page? Anyhow, I live in the very south of Italy... "the end of the boot" lol... I live in Reggio Calabria, but I lived lots of years in Rome in the same university college with 40 other boys.

Anyhow, I had to rest for a while (two days) from TR-A so, I will start working hard again this morning...

Juno, TRAOD will kill my almost 3 years of work (for september) if my game isn't that worthy... So my main intention is to do it "good as it is for itself" and completely different by anything released before... if it is "that different" it won't be possible to compare "two different games"...

My point of strengh is the story I am telling (which is unrevealed) and to put my game "inside" this story :) In this way, this game is building by itself... I am just a "poor executor" LOL :)

"our" game is a pretty wonderful definition of this tr-a :D

I don't know if the tip of Italy is anything similar to the tip of Florida... how's there? :D here it's a really warm weather (even if in this period we are having cold days)... near to the see ...fantastic and untouched and low-frequented sandy coasts and spumy waves lol with beauties (mediterranean girls) and beasts (just me actually.. I am similar to a bear lol lol lol) :D

here it's not high-technological... actually the less industrial part of Italy, and for this reason the lifestyle is still highly acceptable :D (no runs, no stressing days, no smog, no traffic.. a paradise! I love here!) :)

Tr-chick, I am just 3 kilometers from Sicily... I can almost easily reach Messina, Catania, Siracusa, Agrigento (english name... Girgenti?)... and some few other parts... on the "ionic sea" side)

psiko you are a really brilliant architect and an extraordinary painter, you never stop to surprise me .. I'm simply amazed :D

Playing your levels we are always projected in a so simply incredible world: the history of TR-A is already "damnably fascinating" of itself, but the atmospheres that you build, and every time you show, are so mmm :rolleyes: fascinating, so involved, so incredible, and so detailed that these become "tangible" nearly to seem real :D

Generally when I play I like so much to deeply moved to me, to emotion me (I know, maybe it's not the corrected translation :p ) as I imagine it is the same for all the players .. and you cause a great emotions with your levels, to light fires of emotions to me .. you are a LDs so.. ehm.. so "moving" LOL... :)

These screenshots are simply wonderful.. nature, tecnology, techorganic architecture still together .. it's simple to imagine that walking into these levels will be a incredible experience besides a pleasure also for the eyes.. I would have 1000 questions for you, but I know already that you will not disclose nothing.. ok.. we will patiently wait the release of the complete game (sigh sigh).. but you (plsss) always remembers us and often (a looooot often) update us :D

so... good work builder of dreams (and dreamers) ;)

Well, I released the COTW with 6 articles inside where I tell "something" about the story... but I believe that if a story cannot be told in few words "isn't a good story" :)

So, TR-A stands for Tomb Raider A - The TechnoEgyptians with a subtitle "and the Hidden Empire at the Center of the World"... and this, substantially, explains entirely my story :D



(This following is told more detailedly in the readme's I put inside my already released levels, but it will be told completely into the complete TR-A itself with short descriptions and addictions in the future readme's).

Planet Earth is empty in its innermost part, and at its center there is a huge Nuclear Yellow Sun called "The Kernel". It is substained by FOUR PYLONS, one for each natural element ("earth, wind, fire, water")... By the fondaments of those 4 pylons inside the internal surface of the empty planet earth, the nuclear Kernel takes the Energy needed to keep alive the superior technology of the civilization hidden at the center of the world: the TechnEgyptians.

In ancient ages a Huge War was fighted by Humans and Demigods for the possession of the Kernel of Rhatech (***). Rhatech is the Capital of the Empire, and the possession of the Kernel meant the possession of huge powers and the control of the entire planet. But humans LOST this war against the TechnoEgyptian Demigods who rejected Human Mankind OUTSIDE the Empire to the Surface of the Earth, where we humans started evolving.

There was a passage that linked the two surfaces (the External one and the Internal one): that passage was CLOSED forever to humans by a portal, the TechnoEgyptians Portal. Ancient Egyptians are a good proof of this. Their Faraons were elected by Demigods themselves to control our civilization... :eek:

During the ages, human mankind forgot from where they came from, and that "Center of the World" (COTW) civilization evolved until to call itself "TechnoEgyptian", while near the opening for that passage to the Empire, Jerusalem was built.

Dante Alighieri talked about this into his Divina Commedia... He talked about an infernal civilization of demons and a Portal to the Hell throughout a passage below Jerusalem.... ("Abandon your hope ye who enter" or something similar :))...

In the 2002 Lara Croft finds out that that very popular Portal really exists and that passage below Jerusalem does not take you to the hell like it was belief... but the truth is terrbly worse... While she is searching for the "Imperial Symbol of New RHA" she is told about the prophecy... in the 2004 TechnoEgyptians will reveal again to human mankind for their Kernel of Rhatech will start losing its energy!

This, and the rest, is told in game.... TR-A after a short prologue in the 2002, will start in Jerusalem in the year 2004 when the Surface World is already conquered by TechnoEgyptians and they are already collecting the energy of the 4 elements to restore the Kernel... Lara will wear the general Uniform of the Empire and will go deep down the "center of the world" capital Rhatech, to destroy the Empire and this menace since where it comes...



The project was in the beginning of 7 levels. Now it is of 22 + 3 for cutscenes... a huge project, so..

About the colors, it is a specific artistic choice, but this answer to you could get "too long" LOL... simply I try to put inside the same location the three fondamental colors (red, yellow and blue and their variations with the addiction of blue: purple, green, deep blue) into organic locations which are even technological.. (the "Technorganic Style").

Playing the game how it is now, I find that the result of this is fantastic (exactly "what I wanted to create"), expecially into not released levels, amd expecially playing so many levels one after the other :) you really believe to be into a so "unknown" world but actually we are still "here" in this Planet Earth... TR-A is a jurney "inside yourself" for the search of the energy to restore everything...

Anyhow, if you feel still about this for the colors, I suggest you for now to download just the "Rhatech" demo, cause it is the most beautiful one to be played. Entire TR-A will have the beauty of Rhatech, the gameplay of COTW and the surprices of COTW and TEP.

(BTW the TEP and COTW you find in download into my signature are different levels from the versions inside the entire TR-A)

I just want to say that I love your texture style, arcitechture, and lighting. It's nothing that I've ever seen in any other custom level.

It's a good story, really, I like it!! It's not crazy or something like this! Who knows what we have inside our planet earth?!?! :rolleyes:
The explantion for the colors gave me "other eyes" to see your project.. maybe I started to like the textures, who knows?? :D

I love the screenshoots from Rhatch!! I go to play it soon!!

Another question, the already release of COTW and TEP (what means TEP?) will be part of TR-A??

I think huge is not big enough :eek: .... 22 levels.... man... I am speechless! Out of the 22, how many are actually finished?
And TR:A Gold? If it depends on TR:A success, you better be planning TR:B as well! lol :)

Psiko your levels are so surreal with the bright green and yellow colors. It's a very dark inviroment but what else would you expect form an underground way to hell.

Speaking of hell and Dante - does anyone know how many rings of hell there are in The Divine Comedy (in the most inner ring in the center of the Earth is the devil himself). I've got a little bet running. I said there were 7 and my roommate said 9.

old TEP and COTW won't be included into TR-A. They are "old" and they cannot be inserted completely well in the story as it was written now definitedly.

I lost the project of TEP so to build it in a compatible version for TR-A I had to start building it from the beginning. So it is different... Then, the two levels of COTW have now just the "skeleton" but nothing more from the original ones. New Objects, completely re-textured, new textures themselves, new illumination (no dark anymore) more audio files, few enemies of more, some changes in the gameplay, more helps, different locations, many jumps are now easier, many things will be successful at first attemp... shortly they are two different levels now, but the story they tell is still that one even if a little bit more detailed and compatible with the rest (for that time I could not preview every detail)

Levels completely done: 8
Levels I am working on: 10 (not finished but near to be)
Levels to be done: 6 + 1 title containing certain short passages.

For the bet, I think you both are right. Capital sins are 7 (so one ring for each one), but there are few rings of more for some "special" reason... cannot say if they are 9 in total, but probably yes. I will tell more detailedly if the bet needs a really sure answer :)

All you have to do is buy Tomb Raider Chronicles and the level editor comes with it on a separate cd. With the level editor you can create your own levels. It also comes with a manual that will get you started. And if you have questions, there is a Level Editor forum here. We have lots of experts here; if you download some of the custom levels, you will be impressed.:)

I would like to add that the TRLE isn't sufficient to realize the game (or levels) in the way you saw into this topic... the reasons are many. The TRLE came just with the "room" editor and with a limited set of functions and features and "objects" you can use.

Many un-official tools were added by fans like an animation editor and a really wonderful tool to customize or creating from the beginning new objects. You should need the TRviewer, Strpix, TRwest surely (you can find infos into the TRLE forum expecially the FAQ topics) DO not miss the wadmerger a real "all-in-one" tool.

Then, for my game, I use really deeply the Photoshop for all the textures you see, and the Rhino3D for all the new objects. Then 3Dsmax for new animations to be inserted with the Trviewer. The alternaive chance is to use objects textures, etc, etc from previous games, which can give very good results.

@junojim: do not worry, levels are all in my mind, that could be the definitive amont, the reason they are every time more than the previos one is just because few things are not possible into just one level so I have to split into two :)

Have a look at this level I "was" keeping secret (now it is no more, LOL). Well those are just two screenshots from an entire prologue level where everything will start :)

most of the textures are hand-drawned (oops I forgot to mention "hands" as a tool, LOL) :D

Then Photoshop retouched. I've hand-drawned some of the textures more than one year ago, but I came back to this level recently and you see the work of few days ago. I stopped for a while this one and I came back here because I need few locations for some certain following levels (new COTW itself) :)

that is an image which shows the "inferno" (hell) for Dante.

IX means ninth, so yes, circles are nine.

Some translations:

cerchio= circle, ring
Centro della Terra: Center of the World
Lucifero= Satan, the Devil itself.

As you can see, circles are nine, at the top of all there is Jerusalem (the same where TR-A will start). Inferno is an empty CONE inside the innermost part of the planet Earth.... At the center of the earth there is Lucifer.

Re-interpratation into TR-A is justthat the empty part is not a CONE, but the earth is completely empty (an empty sphere), at the Center of the World there isn't Lucifer, but the Kernel itself substained by the four elemental pylons you see in the load image of my games....

And finally "demons" are TechnoEgyptian Demigods into a hypertechnological civilization... guess who's Lucifer... lol :)

btw, "RHA" was the god of the SUN for Ancient Egyptians, New RHA is the God of the Kernel... the Nuclear Sun inside the Planet Earth.

Dante said Lucifer was a fallen angel from the Heaven for he wanted to shine more luminously than (Christian) God Himself... he ruined into the Planet Earth which, for the disgust, tried to move far from him... while moving far (because Planet Earth could not move actually) that CONE was created (like if the Planet Earth was refusing to receive Lucifer) and he stopped to fall exactly at the Center of the World.

"Lucifer" means "the one who brings the light with himself" from the ancient dead language LATIN (Italian French Spanish comes from Latin)...

Anyhow, all of this (and much more) will be included into the documentation inside the TR-A :)

wow.so many tools.it is some kind of science or art.now i see why there are so many people(enough to create a holliwoods movie) at the end of each game.this job isnt piece of cake.

I think psiko's levels will be much more exciting than half of the levels in Chronicles. I have tried the level editor but it's 3D and not 2D stuff. I abandoned immediately cause it didn't work properly on my computer.:mad:

after a 4-month hiatus, feels good to still see some familiar names on here...but i missed a lot! So rescue is now up to 13 huh? (and i stopped at 7 :( and Psiko (nice to see you again) has come up with his demo! oh well, better late than never :)

kinda got burn out playing TR for awhile there but your Rhatech levels got me going once more! Thanks! Very good one!

About the colors, it is a specific artistic choice, but this answer to you could get "too long" LOL... simply I try to put inside the same location the three fondamental colors (red, yellow and blue and their variations with the addiction of blue: purple, green, deep blue) into organic locations which are even technological.. (the "Technorganic Style").

Playing the game how it is now, I find that the result of this is fantastic (exactly "what I wanted to create"), expecially into not released levels, amd expecially playing so many levels one after the other :) you really believe to be into a so "unknown" world but actually we are still "here" in this Planet Earth... TR-A is a jurney "inside yourself" for the search of the energy to restore everything...

Anyhow, if you feel still about this for the colors, I suggest you for now to download just the "Rhatech" demo, cause it is the most beautiful one to be played. Entire TR-A will have the beauty of Rhatech, the gameplay of COTW and the surprices of COTW and TEP.

(BTW the TEP and COTW you find in download into my signature are different levels from the versions inside the entire TR-A)

into TEP: Lara opens the leggendary TechnoEgyptians Portal, the portal which will give access to the "Center of the World" Empire...

into RHATECH: Lara reaches the INTERNAL SURFACE of the planet Earth.. she sees for the first time the KERNEL itself... destroys the technobirds troops, pick up the lasersight glasses useful to have the RETINAL IDENTIFICATION positive.... She then reaches RHATECH the TechnoEgyptian Capital of the Empire riding an antigravitational motorbyke... finds herself inside the "New RHA Pyramid" where she has to "confront and reconcile" herself before to face New RHA Himself...

into COTW ("Center of the World"): She reaches the New RHA Shining Star and the Cathedral... Activating the three energetic rays she activates the Shining Star to bring energy to the Embryo of New RHA into the Cathedral itself... But the birth of New RHA will mean the re-chargement of the Kernel itself and the un-limited powers for TechnoEgyptians :eek:

I am nervous cause I completely lost this game today.

Nothing more any "TR-A" thingy, I suppose. A virus is inside all the project files, and I cannot rescue it. I do not have any recent safe copy. I did put for mistake an old CD I did burn when they attacked me, and it had this virus. Hackers finally won. CLAP CLAP, you happy me seriously sad, now. I can't release anymore a game so done.

I really need to cry, boys :) :D :) :)

Huh? Are you kidding? The modern antivirus software can repair most of the infected files and restore them in their original state. :confused:

psiko! This is terrible! Surely someone that you know can help to extract the virus and make the necessary repairs! After all your long hours of work........it's just incredibly wrong that it would end this way........forgive me for asking the obvious, but have you tried to repair the files using an antivirus program (Norton, McAfee, AGV)?

it's not a fools day. I am working on this.. but nothing works... at least 4 finished levels are this way. But I haven't checked them all.. anyhow on monday a friend of mine will come my home and we will see.

Then, I have a previous backup CD on february the 2nd. I won't lost that much work, but I hope the game was not infected already since then... this is the only way to rescue it, if my friend cannot help me.

I want to edit because I have fun editing... no any other reason, and because I love Lara... I can go and create wonderful games with a better engine like the "Unreal II" one, if I want... most of all because that is really near to a complete CAD program... but there isn't Lara... anyhow if I rescue the game, I will publish it only if I am really and deeply sure about it.

I'm sorry to hear that, psiko! :( I know for sure that the antivirus programs like Norton and McAfee can pretty well analyse the infected files, then safely remove the virus and restore the original state of the infected files... well, that's true for most of the virus infections, if not for all. And most important, you should have the real-time antivirus scanners on, all the time. They detect any virus as it's being written on the hard disk and you can be safe; of course you have to keep your antivirus signatures up to date. If you think it's appropriate, you could upload the infected project files somewhere (or even e-mail them directly), and some of us could download them to try to remove the virus and then return the clean files back to you. I mean, I would try to help.

Well... good luck with that. :(

Yes CyCro I have an antivirus on and a firewall.. but in the PC I use to work on, I cannot update them because I won't connect on internet and I didn't in order to avoid things like that... but it was my fault because I did put an OLD cd when I was attacked months ago... I didn't recognize it! I was so cared to avoid everything then finally I did put so stupidly that CD by myself...

Anyhow, I am still working... But, if you want to know, I am in contact with a Software House for an Xbox game and they liked my 3dsmax demo works to be imported in Maya CAD program... so we will realize a game starting on september... (and I will payed to do what i LIKE to do) :D I mean, those hackers can even destroy "one" work, but I will do the same what I've been longing to do in my life :) :)

Anyhow... I played again few TR-levels of mine, not still released, and I want to finish this project cause I find it is really beatiful (at least for me), and it is satisfying. So I will try everything to rescue it :) I "must" tell this story and you have to enjoy it without problems :D

Cool, that's great to hear! :) About the antivirus updating, you can import the updates form the other PC that is connected to the internet; you can copy the contents of the antivirus definitions folder to a CD-RW (or zip them and use a floppy disk) and then put them in the corresponding folder of the other PC, even using a floppy disk. This way, by replacing all files, you will have the latest definitions on both computers. Well, waiting for more news (hopefully good ;)) soon!
