I want to thank you Eidos, you have convinced me never to pre-order another title again. I will continue to buy games, but only on the day of, or after launch.
So I ordered the PC version of this game through Gamestop (US) because they are the only retailer that offered the "Sniper Challenge." Not only does Gamestop (US) not offer any version of the digital copy, but they forced another stupid downloading service on me, like I don't have enough from Origin and Steam. Then, when I tried to cancel that pre-order, in order to upgrade to the Professional edition, Gamestop tells me that I cannot cancel this pre order because I got Sniper Challenge when I pre-ordered. Sure hope you guys didn't want that extra $20. My money is apparently not good enough
Now, I am not mad, I am not saying I will never buy this game. I just wanted to provide feedback that I will never pre-order a game again.

That's Gamestop, not Eidos, dude.
I feel your pain though, I've quit pre-ordering games from Gamestop a while ago.

That is not Eidos's fault. They don't set the policies that GameStop forces on customers. That's all GameStop.

Some digital services didn't offer the Sniper Challenge either, such as greenmangaming, it's a bit of a clusterfu*k, Eidos promising all preorders getting SChallenge yet the only one's who seem to get it are Steam customers, and Steam wasn't even on the 'official retailers list' for preorder bonus'. Go figure.
Seems like GameStop's problem.
I canceled and got refund for the game on steam and still have my sniper challenge playable before i pre order the professional edition.

Point of order; Amazon.com and uk both give you the Sniper Challenge DLC for use with Steam.
But yes, as all the above has said, Gamestop is the culprit, not Eidos. Gamestop bought the license to sell the game, so they can do whatever they like with it.

Do not accuse anyone, but your greediness. Mouse scented out free cheese and was caught in a mousetrap.

+1 Points for blaming Eidos for something Gamestop did, stay classy.

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Nobody at Square Enix or IO is obviously interested in seeing people having trouble with preordering our titles. What you seem to be experiencing is a Gamestop-related issue so I strongly suggest you voice your disagreement with them rather than this forum as I'm sure Gamestop would very much like to learn from your feedback.

Hello Nick, can you speak about the digital retailers other than Steam that have not provided Sniper Challenge keys to preorder customers? Specifically Greenmangaming.com?

Sorry I haven't responded in a while, I had my folks in from out of town, so have not been online. Two things I would like to clarify.
For those that made comments about getting Sniper Challenge, or pre-order through another vendor besides Gamestop, I would just point out that GAMESTOP IS THE ONLY U.S. RETAILER THAT OFFERS SNIPER CHALLENGE. Sorry for the caps, but wanted to ensure that was clear, because I obviously wasn't clear enough in my Original Post.
For those that tell me its Gamestop's fault, not Eidos. I have taken my complaint to Gamestop. This feed back is for the other side of the coin. Square Enix or IO have decided to give Gamestop (US) exclusive rights to the Sniper Challenge, which forced me to do business with them, whether or not I wanted to in order to get the Sniper Challenge. I do not know the reasoning behind this, and I do not care. The only thing that matters to me, the customer. Is that I have never had this much trouble with a pre-order in the past. So please do not think me a fool, and try to persuade me that IO and Square Enix do not have just as much blame as the retailer. Again, this is only meant as feed back from an end user perspective. Take it for what it is, or delete my post and sweep it under the rug.

You know, there's no sig-check on the Sniper Challenge files. For the non-coders of us, it means that the console in question (minus PC) will not verify whether you have bought Hitman Absolution before allowing you to play. It's essentially a demo.
Of course, this raises moral dilemmas, but seeing as you rightly deserve the Sniper Challenge as you have bought H:A, then there will be no guilt.
