Well, we are moving to a new host but we haven't done so yet. Our current host has been having all sorts of network problems lately and every time they do, we get disconnected.

Hey there guys! it's been some time since I've last been here. I was about to go nuts about TTLG not coming up so I thought little and suddenly It came to me, I should go to the Eidos Forums! I felt like such a genious until I saw that every other TTLGer I know is here too. Things were just about getting hot at TTLG when suddenly, POOF! and then nothing.

Isn't it just my luck - a tree violently attacked the transformer outside my house and the surge partially destroyed both my work/gaming rig and the crappy box I use for the internet. (not to mention the fun I had with several exploding lightbulbs and a severely carbonised electric garage door opener)

Now, after the better part of a week with no TTLG fix I finally get back online to find the routers are rooted.

I suppose I should use the extra time I normally spend at TTLG to finish off the Strange & Unusual guide - but I still haven't managed to get my 'good' computer back in working order yet.

Get a UPS with a warranty that protects the hardware its supposed to. It's worth it to be able to go to somebody and say, "pay me for my blown computer!" =)

Read the very first post on the TTLG forums. It explains that they are having equipment problems. It also explains that they need donations to purchase new equipment.

Well, I've been in my share of sticky situations as far as DromEd is concerned, but that's a new one on me. I tend to miss all that early petting and move right on along to the irretrievable erasure of countless hours hard work part. :(

Hope it comes through for you. But if you do have to keep your computer on all night, make sure you drag the monitor over to a corner of your room, if it's not already in one. Then turn the screen to face the wall...maybe even dig out that stipid hat you baught last summer to place on top. Make it know it has done something bad! ;)

I went on a 9 mile, 5 hour canoe trip. It was relaxing and the scenery was nice. We stopped every mile or so for people to swim and toward the end of the trip I got tired of stopping. The water was cold but clear in shallow places. Because of recent flooding there were large branches and debris floating so you had to keep an eye out.

It eventually did the post, but I had to leave and return to do it. Are you sure someone else wasn't replying to the same thread at the same time you were ? Sometimes that will slow/stop a post.

ahh yes, that sort of thing would indeed be beyond my charms. Since the server is in Virginia and I am in California, anytime it becomes physically (or otherwise) disconnected from the Internet (power outage or whatever) there's sweet FA I can do about it until it's back. :)

Msledd said the server is in Virginia, and (I've heard) the power there is still iffy in parts, and still gone in others. That's probably the real reason why it is acting weird. I do wish there was a backup page (or whatever it is) so when TTLG goes offline it wouldn't produce the 404 error, just a page that says TTLG is off on a little nap. What would it take to do that ?

Unfortunatley the RAID failed on the server - it is being duplicated now, with an ETA of approximately 2 to 3 hours. Hopefully this will restore the server to working order, however there is a chance that the RAID has become corrupt, in which case we will lose everything since the server upgrade on 23rd of May :(

I just went to ttlg...well, sortof...The page popped up a message saying they had experienced hardware failure, and to go to another page for a forum.

Dang it, we should have laid off the donuts in our missions. We've made Garrett too plump, and it's overloaded the works :(

That second page loaded up a blank, so , either we've all overloaded it already or it is still a work in progress.

Hopefully they will get things back to normal, soon :)
