When I look at the redesigned gritty Lara Croft portrayed in the "survivor is born" Tomb Raider still image I can't help but think that better bullet/collision physics (better in the sense of helping the player feel more immersed) would nicely accompany the tone of this new Tomb Raider (2012).

Here's what I wish:
human sized enemies and smaller ones (such as a wolf etc) should be staggered by a pistol shot and either knocked back or knocked down by a single blast from a shotgun (depending on range).

Plz listen ...Tomb Raider isn't a FPS, I know this. And I'm aware that you guys are trying to create an experience with gameplay far beyond the basic shooter. But I just wish the gun mechanics and bullet related physics were more robust. I also wish Tomb Raider had a more in-depth knife combat system for when I want to sneak around and get stealthly.

That's basically it. Other than those two requests I really enjoy everything else about the series. You guys have the best lead character in the business in the iconic Lara Croft. And I'm looking forward to the new game as much as anybody else. The problem I have with Tomb Raider's gun mechanics is that when I fire a single shot, most creatures don't respond from the impact. Only a very large creature (think a bear or larger) can brush off a pistol shot. Videogame combat is a more immersive experience when the enemies recoil.

Finally, please include in-depth knife combat with different critical hit animations. Lots of games that have gun combat also have some knife wielding component. However, other companies implement it in the most rudimentary way. I would like to see an assortment of different knives as well as an option to upgrade your knife (thereby unlocking different critical hit animations).

Thank you for your kind attention

i think this game is more focused on malee combat then gun fights. but i do get your point. i also agree that the enemies should not handle too many bullets and there should be some reaction when they are under fire or getting shot.

please include more stealth options and a variety of knives and upgradeable melee weapons so that players can complete any level in a variety of ways.

Please reward a player with some bonus weapons/ammo (and perhaps an online ranking) if they can complete a level without being spotted/alerting enemies.

GO LARA!! i'm so excited about this game!!

An action game with a focus on "character development and narrative"

WOO HOO! March 2013 can't arrive soon enough.

The best enemies' response to bullets and damage I've seen is in Borderlands 2 :D But it wouldn't really break the immersion for me, I've seen the enemies somewhat react to gunfire, search for cover, environments are destroyable, so it passes my standards for a TR game :D But again, it's not very important to me...

I hope TR 2013 has better physics. I just want to see enemies (particularly small enemies) recoil when they are shot or take damage, that's all I can say.

MY PRE-ORDER IS BEING PLACED this week!! I'm excited about this game and I'm excited about The Last of Us. I think the next 18 months will be an epic/historic year in gaming. So many good titles arriving not to mention the likely hardware reveals.

I wouldn't mind if Tomb Raider had the bullet physics of Max Payne 3, where shooting an enemy would cause them to react, and react differently depending where they were shot. However, I personally don't find this that crucial of an issue for them to change anything less than two months from launch, but it should definitely be implemented in the next (if there is one) instalment.

I did't make this request "less than two months from launch."
I made this request almost thirteen months from launch. Notice the words 2012 in the title?

I wasn't aware a thirteen month old thread had been revived. I thought it was new. Well, either they've taken your suggestion into consideration or we'll not see anything until the next game. :)

In the Tomb Raider (2013) "Product Features" description on Amazon it says:
"It has superb physics-based gameplay"

I have read some of the statements made by developers in interviews (but not all the statements since I don't want everything revealed). Just wondering, has any developer commented on the "superb physics"?
