Okay, my Momo wheel is off my desk. GTR2002 & GPL are taking a back seat to my anticipation for TR:AOD. I did TR2 beginning to end and Max Payne about 80% then threw in the towel while wandering around the halls listening to his dead wife.
Is there anything I can play until TR:AOD that comes close to what we expect?

Depends on what you like. I've heard Resident Evil for game cube is pretty good, that is if you have a GC.

'Project Eden' by Core is very good...great level design and a new way of looking at puzzle-solving.
I'll second the RE on GC recommendation too.

My brother really likes Project Eden, he finally got it for Christmas this year, started playing it christmas day, and finished the game last week.
The only bad comments he had was not having a jump key. ;)
I had a bash but I don't like the team-work aspect...

Try The Thing -- 3rdPP action/adventure game. It picks up where the John Carpenter movie left off as you lead a rescue team in to the base that got hit by the alien.
It has quite a neat little team dynamic thing going where you have to earn the trust of the soldiers/base personnel before they'll help you (basically the more firepower you give them the more they trust you -- give them a flamethrower and they worship you). Keep you boys happy or they'll not back you up and may even turn on you, suspecting you of being infected.
Add to that the creepy aspects of dealing with the thing itself and it's a winner. Also comes with a nifty manual mouse-aim patch as well for when that autoaim lameness just turns yer brayne off.
I also second the Project Eden recommendation -- very neat little game. I'd have been more than happy had they just ported TRAOD to that engine and added all of Lara's moves with it. Also non-autoaim, but the amount of bullets you have to pump into even the most minor of blastable nasties is very offputting.

Project Eden gets a big thumbs up from me as well. Probably my favorite title of '01. Wouldn't be suprised if Angel of Darkness equals its greatness. I've been skeptical of AOD, but the positive previews on the latest build have me looking forward to it again (as are the new screenshots like the one of Lara climing up the cliff).
Metroid Prime is an instant classic. I haven't been this impressed by a game since TR2. Nuff said. :D Eveyone here should pick this one up.

I don't think so, in this case.
I think she is either using a very short, familiar term for Lara,
or this is the Ozzie version of La's, as in girls. (Shela's)
So, "Go Lar's!" could mean "You GO Girl !"
Go Lar's ! :)

Yes...I realise that...I was being frivolous.
There is no shortened version of Lara, however. (Lara being the shortened derivative of Larissa).
Except what one makes up oneself. ;)

Easy...TR1,2,3,4,5... Guess that's the best warm up! :D
Well, nothing compare to her. Imho.
Have fun!
