How cool is it that there are three Eidos games in the running :thumb:

Ps. Vote for TR9! :D

The TR9 trailer was pretty sweet, but then again a lot of these games had really amazing trailers; Batman: Arkham City, Skyrim, Deus Ex, Uncharted 3, etc. I'm not really sure why Star Wars: The Old Republic isn't on that list, that trailer was absolutely epic.

EDIT: Oh, YouTube says it's from 2009. That might be why :)

^ Meh.

I think you have to be a big SW fan in order to find that trailer "epic".

The DX3 trailer was much better. Big production value and a big "awe" factor to non-DX fans.

That SW trailer watched more like a regular battle scene from {insert name of random action flick}.

Nah, that trailer is pretty epic. I don't know of many generic action scenes sporting space vehicles plowing through structures, lightsaber sword duels, or armies of sword wielders slamming into each other, a bounty hunter shooting lasers from the shadows, then taking to the air with a jet-pack, wielding dual flame throwers from her forearms, telekinetic blasts in battle, etc. I mean, I can see some of those features in other games and scenes, but usually not all at once and definitely not done as well. I do love the end of the dual, as the poor Jedi warrior gets to watch all he's fighting for and loves burn before him as he falls dead. Nice touch.

I think we get somewhat over-saturated with Star Wars at times and the prequels sure tarnish what it once was (so do the new edition changes Lucas keeps doing "NOOOOO!!"), but when done right, it illustrates this did it first and did it pretty darn well, if not best. The music also is hard to top, and that might get lost after hearing it so much over the decades also. I do think that it being from 2009 is the reason, Nemesis, so you're right. Otherwise, it would be definitely listed here :)

However, the other trailers out there are sure hard to beat, too. I love, Batman: AC, TR9, but Assassins Creed: Revelations is pretty much poetry in motion, and then there's the Dead Island one, though of course it was nothing at ALL like the game it was promoting, lol But, it was pretty amazing the level of emotion and creativity and I sure would LOVE to see a movie/game done to that level of sensitivity regarding zombie apocalypse. The Walking Dead might be the closest thing out there. ACR and Batman: AC both are tuned to the perfect emotional music accompaniment. I think ACR more so, and the level of melancholy offset the action happening very well.

Dues Ex's live action one, Purity, is the one in contention. I found that to be well-done and sure would make a decent trailer for a film of this (though, some of the actors would have to be replaced with better, imo). It's very tense and gritty, but I do see where the same thought isn't put into everything within it, be that for budget reasons, or whatever. The characters wear the same clothes we do, not like in the game, nor futuristic. The style of news broadcast is the same as today; the shots of the city and the field of play, etc, are of today and all of that takes me out of the future setting this is trying to place me in. Other than that, and the fact that, though this came out before them, it's invoking a slightly sour taste in the mouth due to the resemblance to the OWS protests happening right now, it's a pretty awesome trailer.

I have the same reaction to the live action ME3 trailer. I love that they did it in live action, but then the news broadcast looks like one done today in a generic studio and the clothes they wore are today's style, not what we see in the games. It makes a difference.

But it's hard to choose a number one to vote for here. So many mentioned are great.

Looks to me like they did in fact put thought into that and actually did it on purpose, to make the characters more relatable and the video more gripping.

It worked really well, IMO.

I think the Dead Island trailer has a pretty good chance of doing well. It's one of the most memorable.
